Prepare for the apocalypse in this world of pollution, climate change, nuclear war, inflation, ozone deterioration, and disease. Everything is everyone's fault. Every choice you make will create an infinite number of future outcomes. Every time anyone makes even the simplest decision it creates a series of events that can change everything for the rest of history. You have made choices that have killed 1000's of people and saved 1000's of lives and you may not even know it. Every time you drive you change where all the traffic is causing accidents and preventing them miles away. Every time you walk to the store you step on little bugs which could have made trillions more that could spread diseases all over the world and sometimes your choices don't change anything hardly at all but most choices do and what most people don't realize is how much they impact the world even in everyday life.
Imagine time having a shortest possible duration of time which can be compared to a single frame in a cartoon show, but an infinite number of other possible frames are created by each of these short durations of time creating an infinite number of alternate dimensions. Or maybe we don't even have a choice. Maybe every thing we do is predetermined by the last frame, deciding every choice made.
If the Universe was started with an electronic spark called "The Big Bang" and expanded into what is now the universe, where did that spark come from?  What if you kept going one direction in the Universe for so long you eventually returned to where you started just like in a pac-man game. If thats true then the universe would eventually expand into itself and collapse creating nothing but a small particle containing everything packed inside which will create another little spark which would happen the same as it did before and because that little spark would happen the same everything in time would happen the same. Every world recreated, every form of life reborn, every thought and action you have ever made will happen again in a never-ending loop of time. Everything is an infinate paradox.  The beggining is the end and we have created ourselves.  Time is nothing more than where everything happens to be during that moment. If everything you saw, heard, smelt, tasted, felt, and thought came to a stop, you would have no sense of time because if you weren't moving at all, time itself would stop for you. That's why when you sleep its doesn't seem that long although it is.
Every time someone is born, their DNA determines who they will be while the mother is pregnant. It will determine what the person will look like, their intelligence and their basic personality. You could have been anybody if only your DNA had only the slightest change. Anybody could have been anybody. Other than your DNA, the only thing that makes people any different from each other is their life experiences. Even your smallest decisions have made you are who you are today. Your choices have caused you to meet your best friends, live where you live, have everything you own, and they have put you where you are today. They have also prevented you from doing some of the most important things you could have ever done, met people who could have been the most important people in your life, and having life changing opportunities you will never have again and you never even know it because it never happened and most people won't even think of all the other possible things they could have been doing right now.
Imagine if when you died you were reincarnated as someone else in your own time and when they died it happened again until every conscious form of life was reincarnated into each other and every form of life was really the same being. This being wouldn't really have any sense of time because it would be everything all at once so every thought and memory that everyone will ever have would already be there and would only be triggered by the physical bodies when that event occurred. Now think of this being as a collective consciousness of everything. It has been proven that the brain sends out and receives electromagnetic pulses that can be detected outside the brain. Thoughts constantly come and go throughout life. When people die all their energy leaves at once which is what ghosts are until they completely decay back into everything else. This energy is also constantly coming and going throughout life which is why if two people are around each other they might start thinking the same things.
Brains are just receptors that transmit electromagnetic waves which are used to collect data from each individuals life. Different individuals can pick up different types of waves due to their different brain structuring. A good example of this is bugs that live in colonies. Thousand's of little ants communicate with each other with their antennas located by their brain's sending their brain waves to each other in electromagnetic pulse's as if the whole colony of ants is controlled by one consciousness. All forms of life are like that but don't realize it because we've lost being able to do it though evolution because we no longer needed that ability to survive. Everything one generation can do and doesn't use is taken away from the next generation. No one really has any individuality to them. They only think they do because each individuals brain remembers the same memories until they die. Everyone's only a vessel of a collective consciousness and each individual is here to collect their own data of their life experiences and they all go back to that collection when they die.
Who you are is constantly changing. Throughout life thoughts and ideas come and go changing your personality, beliefs, and things you like while keeping the same memories. This can be compared to a computer. The hardware is like your physical body, while the software is your brain. Throughout the computers lifespan software gets installed and deleted but all the data from everything is stored backup somewhere. When the computer is destroyed all the backup data can be sent to the master computer where all the data will then be sorted out and send to various computers in the same way our thoughts recycle. This is why people sometimes claim to remember things from other people's lives. It's reincarnation of thoughts.
I think someday when people have figured out exactly how this works robotics and computers will be able to have a consciousness too and they will run off the same electromagnetic waves that our brains use to create our consciousness. Today's electronics are about as complex as worms. Their able to do what they've been programmed to do the same way that a worms brain is programmed to eat and do the simple things it needs to do to be able to survive.
If life was just a virtual reality simulation or some type of dream that everyone was living in would it really make any difference? Would you still be doing all of the things you are doing now if you found out everything you have ever known wasn't even real? It shouldn't make any difference, because it would be as if the false reality actually is real and if everything really is what we think it is then it wouldn't make any difference if it was fake because if the illusion seemed so real that you didn't even know it, then it wouldn't matter. Everything you know is nothing but your senses and your thoughts and thoughts are basically a sixth sense. You could be nothing more than a computer program controlled by something that no one can even comprehend but it wouldn't even make any difference.  Our reality is made entirely out of equasions which are similar to words and the words fit together like puzzle peices create the multi-dimentional book which we live in.
What motivates people to make the choices they make? Is the consequence or reward really enough to make the choices for us? Without anything to create motivation would we even do anything at all? Why is the reward worth it? Why is it that no matter what we are doing, we're still thinking of what needs to be done because there is always that dissatisfaction that needs to be fore filled? Have you ever stopped to think that what you're doing could be meaningless and your only trying to fore fill that dissatisfaction? That is why people become addicted to things, or try to start a meaningless relationship without thinking of how their doing nothing but making rules for each other over an intangible concept only because they can't accept that everyone only has their self, or how people have that need to buy everything they see even though there is no real use to it. Humans are raised by society to do exactly what everyone else does such as go to school to be brainwashed, get married to conform with society, start a career you hate to become another victim of western culture, and live up to the way that society has told us to even though these are all concepts thought up by humans in order to feel like life has a meaning other than finding your own meaning. Most people will never even question why they do any of this. The only way to figure things out is to think for yourself and question everything you know.

"What motivates people to make the choices they make?"

Fear.

They spend their whole lives curled up in the corner with their eyes closed because they are scared to go down the dark hallway to get to the light.

i meant to say what if life is like the pac man game ? which completely defeats my purpose of mocking you, i hate it when that happens, but it usually does. I digress, but I do have a genuine point in there somewhere.

The universe is without explanation, so don't try. Humanity can't grasp itself currently, let alone the holofractographic nature of existence. Holofractographic is not really a word either, but Nassim Haramein likes to go along those lines. Either way the geometry of creation is beyond all of us, even you, the real fool is the one who thinks he has the answer.

How about talking about why people don't do anything with their lives to promote the greater good even when they have knowledge of the greater evil, there's a start. Why do people sit at their mom's houses and claim deity when they are really just the same bump on the same log as everyone else. Don't be delusional.

Up with hope, down with dope !
