ROCK IS ALIVE IN NYC!

NYC just lost another rock station…the legendary K-Rock.
We are sad that many people have lost jobs and that the New York rock scene just lost an outlet. We play a lot of the music that K-Rock embraced, so we would appreciate your support if K-Rock was previously your preferred station.

To our faithful listeners, we appreciate you spreading the word abot 101.9 RXP The New York Rock Experience!  Tell your friends!  Maybe you can even convert some old K-Rock listeners!

I've been converting people for a year now. Great job, WRXP! Survival of the fittest is the law of the jungle. You guys/gals have brought back live, interesting, interpersonal broadcasting. It's been a pleasure to have a real radio station to enjoy in the age of pre-programmed monotony. Thanks for caring about your audience.

Done and done. I was happy when K-Rock came back to New York after essentially giving up the music for a while, but it's really nothing compared to 101.9. I've been talking about you guys to everyone and I hope that people realize just how important your station is to our area.

Once again Matt and Co show great respect in "admiring" K-Rock at it's demise by another Corporation (CBS) that "knows" what people want to hear in our market. Demographics and Focus groups don't cut it because rock is for real people not statistics. Good luck to another pop40 outlet that plays pablum for mindless listeners who see music as background, not a way of life. Mick said it, it's Darwin in these times and RXP and even 104 are stronger stations. It's all been down hill since WNEW, but RXP gives us hope everyday.

It's sad. Of course I wasn't a big krock fan per se in the recent months, but they became a backup station once 101.9 became the station I listened to when my station flipped. (106.3).

I was a faithful listener to 102.7 back in the day and 101.9 is filling that void! But wow to have krock die so soon after grock.... thank goodness for 101.9.

More Top 40 in New York? Wow, just what we need, huh? NOT! Here is why it is a waste of time, and why 92.3 K-Rock is making a HUGE 'Corprate-Focus-Group-Statistics-Have-Proven-and-Test-Markets-Have-Shown-That-What-NY-Needs-Is-Another-Station-That-Plays-The-Same-Ole-Same-Ole-Music-ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL-DAYYYYYYYYYYYYY-LOOOOONNNNNNNNNG-With-DJ's-That-Yell-In-Your-Face-And-Not-Know-Or-Care-A-Thing-About-The-Music-Or-Artists". Does anybody know what the Number 1 song is right now, and does anybody really care? Great music is not found with great ears, but a great nose!! By the time you jump on a trend and hot thing, it is over. You need to make paths, and not follow them. 101.9 gets it, and plays what is not played anywhere else delivered with a real personal feel. 101.9 has 'atmosphere' THAT is what makes them really stand out from the crowd.
Did I mention that the DJ's make your feel like you are just hangin' out with a great friend? Kudos 1 Oh One 9!!
