I saw The Cramps years ago at the Gothic Theater in Englewood, Colorado during their "Look Mom, No Head" tour and it was one of the best rock shows I've ever seen and frontman Lux Interior was the reason why. He was like Dr Frank N Furter incarnate. In fact, seeing a Cramps show was like walking into a real life Rocky Horror Picture Show come to life. Their music was a Frankenstein's monster of late night drive-in movies, rockabilly, surf rock, sleazy sex, motorcycle gangs, chains, boots, and booze fused together to form a sound that was 110% Americana. They made a lot of great music and I'm just sad to find out so late that he died. If you've never heard of The Cramps, then may I recommend... well... every fucking song they ever did. "Elvis Fucking Christ", "Dames, Booze, Chains, & Boots", "Wilder, Wilder, Faster, Faster", and "Let's Get Fucked Up" are good places to start though.
