Well Pleased With You Too What must it mean for Archie Manning to have raised such exceptional sons, not only who play starting quarterback for NFL teams, but who have helped their teams win a Superbowl. For those around the world that don’t know what the Superbowl is, it’s the biggest annual professional sports championship in America bar none. What must it mean for Archie Manning to be the father of two sons who were named MVP (most valuable player) in two consecutive Superbowls. I just have one son I’m brimming with pride for, but imagining what Archie feels today makes me want to open the gates for more children, challenging as they may be. New York city fans and sports critics wanted to write off Archie’s son Eli, the quarterback for this years Superbowl champion New York Giants because he had a rough start of things. And now he’ll be a champion in their minds forever, with the evidence of his tenacity and ability to overcome adversity recorded in history. Eli made one of those plays that will be called "The Play". Late 4th quarter, in the clutches of a New England Patriots defensive mob, swarming, grasping and marshaling him to certain death, Eli escaped and made an impossible completion for a first down that set up the winning touch down. It could not have been more dramatic. It was simply the best Superbowl clash I’ve ever seen, the Giants taking down the Giant, the perfect 18 - 0 Patriots. Not only did Archie’s son Eli win, but he won in such dramatic style, vindicating himself and his team to demanding New York fans. I can imagine how it must feel when the people of New Orleans pat Archie on the back saying, "hey your boys...your boys are great"! What must that mean for generations of Manning’s? Not every quarterback out of school makes it as an NFL quarterback, yet alone help their teams to win a Superbowl, and the Manning’s have two NFL champs. It’s such a great story that I’m writing about it all the way from Singapore. The whole Manning family is the talk of the entire country, if not the global world of sports. All of Archie and Olivia Manning’s sons, Cooper, Peyton, and the new champ Eli have shared their fathers dream. How must it feel for Archie Manning a former veteran quarterback with the New Orleans Saints to see fruit spring forth in his sons resulting in them reaching their own goals? I’d have to say he is well pleased. To be excellent at anything I believe your heart must be full of desire and commitment. I believe Archie saw that his sons hearts were full, because they went the way of his heart, exceeding his own greatness, yet bringing to light I think his true mission, to encourage his sons to greatness. I really don’t know much about Archie Manning’s relationship to his sons, but from the sources I have read, and the evidence I see, they are a "chip off the ole block", and a strong family. Some of you reading this are in God’s family. Now, imagine Gods desire for you, and how pleased he is with Jesus his only begotten son and you in him. Imagine it more, more and more! Dwell on it, then think about Archie Manning again, because our Lord is much more pleased than that with his sons. But, I know many of us don’t feel or even accept the truth that God loves and adores us in Christ. Some of us don’t feel that God the father actually delights in us at all, and that is certainly missing the mark. For if we are not certain that he loves us, there is no abundant life for us, we will reap no love, and have no relationship. Although God loves us, we won’t benefit in this hostile environment where we need his love to complete our mission. Many people just pray God’s not willing to incinerate them, hoping to reach heaven through some back alley method, a kin to a drug deal or a barter, when God planned a way of peace for us through Jesus and granted us full access to him. Don’t allow God to be misrepresented by anyone who denies his tender and intimate love for us. God works out in the open, showing us tender loving kindness, so look for it, expect it, ask for relationship and receive it direct from God, the source of all provision. 2 Peter 1:16-18 NIV 16 We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." 18 We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.John 17 20" My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24" Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25" Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." We are God breathed, the image of God, from the life of God. In like manner Archie Manning is in his sons, for they are from him. They received honor and glory through their relationship. We receive just like Jesus receives from the Father because we are in him and he is in us. To honor our relationship we need to acknowledge it as the way of life, the abundant life, for the abundant life is our relationship with Jesus and our Father. We tend our relationship and everything else works out in our favor. There is no pleasing separation from our relationship with God. Through and by this close loving relationship we live. God the father is enduring, patient, kind and tender towards us, so live the abundant life by opening every door to him. He knows how to treat you in all things. Colossians 1 ...we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Romans 8:14-16 NIV 14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Galatians 4 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba,[a] Father." 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Any time is a good time to confess the wonderful things the Lord has done for you. In Christ he’s shared with you everything for life and Godliness. Whatever thing you commit to do in Christ will be done for you on earth as it is in heaven in the spirit of sonship which is a position not a gender. BE BOLD and GENEROUS for the Lord is that for you. Know the Lord, and meditate on him always in every fashion he has designed for you. Think outside the box, because the Lord is not confined as many may believe. He is free...and has made you free in him. Remember our God, the maker of everything we see and don’t see has taken up residence in you, and given you his awesome promises and love. Beautiful peace, savory wisdom, Christ righteousness, joy and His inexhaustible fervent love to you always! Go and be the success you are! Otrie 1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. ’Jesus The Carpenter’ of Love, Life and Light builds His house.
Matthew 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
