On March 9, 1993, Sony/Columbia released the Inclined's debut album,"Bright New Day."   The album featured 13 songs that had been developed from playing and evolving over the previous 9 years of the band's existence.  The recordings started with a handful of studio sessions the band had recorded on their own in Burbank and Chatsworth, California.  Soon thereafter, Sony/Columbia bought the recordings and had them record a few new tracks to add for the release of Bright New Day.

The band...consisting of Steve Smart on drums, Gene Perry on bass & Miles Tackett of Breakestra on guitar & vocals, was as influenced by the late 80's/early 90's hip hop golden age sound as they were by older progressive & newer pop rock styles & psychedelic sounds.  In addition to the unique sounds and songs found on the record, it is also most likely the first pop/rock record to have used sampled pieces from records and looped breakbeats.  The closing track of Bright New Day featured DJ Cut Chemist, making his CD debut on "Outclined," a shout-out track…also the first for any non-hip hop record.

Well, here we are 15 years later, and the record sounds as good as ever.

In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of their debut album, the Inclined are re-releasing the album, which is out-of-print, digitally for the first time ever.  The album will be released digitally in two periods of two weeks each.

To download your free listening copy of "Bright New Day," simply go to the music player embedded on the myspace home page.  Next to each of the 6 tracks, click on the "Download" button, and the mp3 will be downloaded to your computer for FREE!  Starting on 8/22/08, the second half of the album will be released.

The original artwork for the album has been scanned in at high resolution, and is available in the "Photos" section under the Photo Album labeled "Art."  Simply right click on each of the covers, and copy and paste them to your computer (or use the links provided to the right-hand side of the photo).  You can paste them into any label-making software, or to a basic photo or document file and print it out if you like.  The credits for the album are also available at the bottom of this page, from which you can copy & paste them.

If you have any difficulties, feel free to send us a Message, and we will respond asap.

Very generous!
Bright New Day is simply one of the best albums of the 90's.

Period.

Thanks to Inclined for years of pleasure..
I still have my cherished CD and Tape single
(With Like A Train a stunning, brilliant outtake track if there ever was one.
)
Long live Inclined and keep the funk alive.

I couldn't agree more with the previous comments. I've had my CD and the EP CD since they came out and have loved them since. I was sad to hear the band broke up before i got to see them live.
Tour again please and I'll setup the NYC show!
