Ok, first a shout out to Terry Jones Happy birthday! Even Crystal's ill ridden butt!) Chuckie doing his PRINCE thang! Hot outfit, cuddin'! Manchester girlie - making a surprise visit! All the beautiful people who came out to see the show!!! Thank you for partying with me!!!!

As for my thoughts.. Damn... different. One rehearsal the night before doesn't make for the smoothest show, but let's face it... WE TURNED THAT JOINT OUT REGARDLESS! Can't NO BODY F' wit US! Haahaaa!!!

The show was cool, but the club wasn't as FULL as it should have been.I don't know what happened. Could have been the damn world series that had people out the night before and they decided to stay home last night especially if they go back out tonight to watch 3rd game in the series. Or maybe there were too many Halloween parties else where. Regardless, I did my thing!

An I was 2nd guessing myself... almost didn't change into my main outfit. Yet, I decided.. what the hell, Bren... Do your damn thing and have a small party with the few folks in the house!!! And that's exactly what we did!!! A good 30-40 foiks. Two costume changes & made sure those who came had some fun! The chill set - was cool until my bass player forgot the baseline to Just Be Thankful For What You Got-William Devaughn. I wasn't to happy about that. Ended that one and quick and moved on to Pusherman-Curtis Mayfield. Then went into Summer Madness. After that took a short break - changed and got into my main joint. White suit, shirt, I had my White shiny 4" Platforms on! Wide brimmed pimp hat & cane! I was clean - Forgot my damn sunglasses! What the f*ck! A mofo always got to forget something! Show time!

...Eric begins his drum solo. They go into the intro to Dr. Funkenstein. And here I come stepping in the place from outside. Cane in front of me. I PIMP WALKED my ass in all slick while the band is groovin' Dr. Funkenstein! It was sweet! Andre is on the bass (a favor to have him play). We commenced to do our show! FUnk funk and more FUNK! We slip into Cameo's Funk Funk. Then into Mothership Connection. Next.. James Brown. First set and we finally had people dancing by The Payback. Jungle Boogie, Funkin for Jamaica... Cameo Mix - I Just Wanna Be/Shake Your Pants and lastly into You & I by Rick James. WE got the place partying now!! A good 20 folks dancing in front. WE do it up. Afro wigs are all around bouncing. :) Some of the old-school folk were too scared to boogie! Damn shame. :) CSPS (my co-workers) was in the house representing. Damn well. Andre pulled off his set with only a few mistakes. The damn horn players didn't learn their parts as much as they should have. But we were doin' it right! :) 1st Funk Set over...

Chuckie had the costume contest won! His Prince outfit was tight! $100 to cover those boots which I'm sure cost more. ;) Next thing Malcom- vindicated himself by getting the Just Be Thankful For What You Got bassline. Paula who was on percussion jumped up on the drums...Curtis Warren who plays sax jumped on Congas and Yuki joined in on keys.. We slipped into a nice groove. And I had my uncle Nasim blow on tenor Sax. :) It was cool. :)

2nd Set - Malcom Stuckey is back on bass. We rock into Cisco Kid - War and then into Stevie Wonder's Superstiton with a Sir Duke Horn intro. Tight. and people are dancing again. Mandrill MIX - Fat City Strut into Fence Walk- Horn players missing cues and sh*t.. but I still got love for 'em though! :) Right into FIRE/SKin Tight by the Ohio Players. I begin the Soul Train line and turn it into a contest for $100 certificate to a steak house! First down the line is Terry Orlando Jones with his Afro wig.. boy's a trip.. :) He's cool and goes back to some percussion helping out with the groove. Then comes Riu, Yuki's friend. Japanese cat supporting his friend. And he commences to turn it out dancing just like the cats from soul train in the '70s!! Boy was funky!! Turn the shit out busting splits! Next thing I look - Yuki jumped off of keys and get's on the dance floor!!! Doing the same dances and moves! Extra HYPE!! Turning the place out!!! The contest was over because no one else wanted to go down the line these 2 Japanese brotha's threw down!! And I called everyone out on it too! ...
"How are you going to let 2 Japanese cats come to your country and TURN you all out with your own dances?!" I joked, "...My goodness I ashamed. You all should be ashamed of yourself!!! All these black folk in here and no one has anything to take them on?!!!" All the people could do was laugh! That was it.. My man Rui & Yuki won that contest! Japan won this battle! :) Hopefully him and Yuki will enjoy that dinner and invite my ass out- mofuckas! :)

Bam! We hit into Funky Stuff & Hollywood Swinging - Kool & The Gang and the clock is almost up! I have Terry join us on Thank You (Fallettinmebemicelf)- Sly Stone. And we get down and party up. I slip into Prince ditties, House Quake, Bob George, Irresistible Bitch. Controversy. Sexy MF, I introduce the band and give everyone a chance to shine and hits galore.. Yuki shows his ass off again and we slip into More Bounce To the Ounce! :) Paula does her thing on percussion and BAM FREEZES her pose at the end - had the place jumping!

I want to thank all the musicians that helped a brotha' out!!!

As for myself? My highlight is when I surprised myself by busting a split! I went down, BAM!! Came back up and as I did, one of my cheap ass platform shoes (which the heel doesn't wrap tight enough to stay on) so as I came up I felt the mofo was about to slip off. So I come up and kick off the shoe in the air! And then the other one... and then the white feather boa and then my wide-brimmed pimp hat. And then my suit jacket! Strip Erotic city! I end the show!!!
