December 29, 2008 Season's Greetings to you all! I hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday blur, getting and giving, contemplating your existence, thanking whoever you thank for the upcoming regime change in America, you know, all that good holiday stuff. If you're anything like me, you've had all you can take and you've crawled into a state of hibernation already. I will poke my head out for the gig we have on New Year's Eve but after that, I'm back in the cave. I just get sluggish around this time, you know weighted down by all the eating, drinking, merriment, familial relating, and such. I was lucky enough to spend a week away in Vermont with my immediates and had a wonderfully boring time just hanging out in the woods. It was a good way to spend time with my 9 month old nephew too. He's got more energy than anyone I've ever known but takes frequent naps...smart kid.
I'm really looking forward to 09. New President, hopefully some long awaited changes and reforms. Of course the gays are being left out of the fray again. You have to love the irony. Our first minority president had to stick it to someone and you know as well as I do who's always at the bottom of that totem pole. Alas, gay is the new black so never fear. We'll have our turn someday. Meanwhile, we'll continue to be the fantastic people we are despite the ramblings of some religious conservatives who wrongly think they have the market cornered on right. The wisest people know that those who claim to know everything don't know much because truth is as bendable as plato.
So, yes, I'm on a bit of a tear here just thinking about all this stuff and wanting to share with you...whoever it is that reads these ramblings. I appreciate it and I appreciate you. I've been playing music around New England for over 10 years now and I've enjoyed every minute of it. You're all so wonderful to play for and as I change with the weather from playing gigs with Brian to doing a full band again to playing with Forever Young to doing some now acoustic trio gigs, I realize that you people are always there, always supportive, always constructively critical, and we always have fun together. Or, at least I do. So thanks! Thanks for another great year. I can't wait for our video to come out in February. I think you'll like it.
Meanwhile, happy new year! Much love to you all from Brian, me, and all of us at BC camp.
