Current mood:  jubilant
Hey there boils and ghouls!

Well, it's the second half of OCTOBER now... and people have been asking me “Hey Rudo! What the le frick are you doing for Hallowe'en?!!? Hey Jack!! What's going on around town that's spooky and kooky!??! Hey Jerk, the movie's over! Git outta here already so we can clean up for the next showing of FAME!!!”

Well I'm glad ya asked, you candy corn chompin' cutie you!

ON Hallowe'en Saturday, October 31st from Noon-4pm at Disjecta, an amazing non-profit arts organization in North Portland Haunted Happenings, along with Voodoo Doughnut, Uncle Eerie's Shiver Show, Creepy Cult Printing, The Lippman Co., Driven Dead Car Club, New Seasons Markets and the Chief Joseph Elementary School PTA are hosting an Old Fashion Halloween Ho-Down! Question: For just $5 for those 10 yrs and older, littles free, who throws a better Hallowe'en Party than your own Portland Hallowe'en Bazaar?! Answer: (Same as “Why didn't the Skeleton go to the school dance? He had...) NOBODY!!

“Hey Rudo Jack, what's a measly saw buck gonna git me?”

This mid-day event will easily be North Portland's best Hallowe'en bet! Packed with old-timey Halloween games, live music featuring Podunk and Jim Strange with The Proud and The Damned, DJ Great Pumpkin, Vintage Halloween Video Vault, a RAFFLE benefiting the R&R Camp for Girls and Friends of Lone Fir Cemetery, Halloween Craft Tables, possibly a bouncy structure and a Cake Walk sponsored by the Chief Joseph PTA raising funds for their fabulous Arts and Sciences After School Program!

So here's the angle: Hallowe'en is on a Saturday this year, you know that by now right? Right. We're teaming up with some crazy rad groups with some serious spooky fun juice and putting on a DAYTIME party (noon to 4pm) that is cheap and a great way to start the most bestest day of the year and then head out to go trick 'r treatin!

What's that?!!? You don't have kids ya say? Well read on ya selfish booze hungry bastard!

Disjecta is shutting down from 4pm til 9 to switch gears into an alcohol fueled adult mixed media monster mixer! And during this break, Jayne and I are headed to
The Lone Fir Cemetery's 4th Annual Tour of Untimely Departures!

THEN! Come on back to the party with its own Yellow Line Max stop!
That ole cantankerous coot Uncle Eerie from Portland's Shiver Show will be MCing the rotating stage of party bands while the faceless goon known only as Phantasmo Video will be hosting the Vintage Hallowe'en Video Vault! This costume party will be swingin till the wee hours of the morning and will cost the crazy cheap cover of $10 bucks...that is unless... you already have the attendance stamp from the day time Hallowe'en Ho-Down, then it's just another 5 bucks!!!

Want it broken down all pretty like?!!? Follow THIS:

Seriously, we've got your best Hallowe'en intentions in mind!

That's a beautiful cover for Ray Bradbury's book. I like it better than the copy that I have.
