Current mood:  devious

Ok...it's cold out...let's just get that out of the way. Jim and Nick are currently on a minitour with Tex Governor...bringing them to South Carolina and back. We are anticipating their safe return so we can finish our first 6th Root studio release. We are around 75 percent complete...a couple more vocal sessions, and some mixing/mastering and we are finally done. The whole project so far has gone uncharacteristically smooth for a studio effort. We have no vicious rumors to create about fist fights or artistic differences. We are not overproducing this record at all. Almost All of the drum/bass tracks are first takes live as well as a good portion of vocal/guitar tracks. It feels natural...opposed to built. While this is important to us, we are doing this so you all can hear our music. Being in the studio can create a temperant that wants you to stay there and not let any of it go. Their will always be new ideas that come to my mind on the last five minutes of a mix. We are avoiding this at all costs so the recording sounds somewhat like the band you know...and that we can get it in your hands before May. We are planning a couple cd release parties for April so keep an ear out...for those of you who still listen to cds.
