Bee-otched For: voting for the Republicans again

----

Aw, c'mon, people! GIVE OBAMA A CHANCE!

Tuesday was not a good day to be a liberal. Residents in Virginia and New Jersey voted in new Republican governors and the people of Maine voted against gay marriage, even though the governor was for it.

In New Jersey's case, Republican Chris Christie defeated the unpopular John Corzine with 55% of the vote. Even though Corzine refused to take his salary for one year and even used his own money to treat his injuries when he was injured in a motorcade accident, his approval ratings were low, mainly due to a budget crisis the state is suffering. The governor-elect Christie is pro-life, pro-gun and judging by his expanding waistline, pro-McDonald's.

In Virginia, Republican Bob McDonnell beat Democrat Creigh Deeds 59 to 41 percent of the vote. Some say that Deeds just isn't Democratic enough because he totally doesn't support Obama or his policies, but also the fact that despite the fact that Virginia had a Democratic governor for eight years, the state isn't totally a blue state.

Now, I'm worried. Right now, Michigan's unemployment rate's over 15% and the Repukes love to point the finger at Governor Jennifer Granholm. Even though she's a two-term governor, she's not totally popular. Then again, she won because the two Repukes she fought against - Dick Posthumus and Dick DeVos - were so out of touch with Michigan. Posthumus wanted to cut taxes for the wealthy and DeVos, well, never worked a single day in his life, thank you daddy. Then again, Michigan faced, oh, let's see... Eight years of Reagan, four years of Bush I, twelve years of Engler and eight years of Dubya. Thirty-two combined years of Republican lies and BS during my lifetime has led to the destruction of Detroit, Flint and millions of jobs lost in this state.

But, look! I'm starting to see progress! I see a lot of signs on the side of the freeway stating that the reconstruction of these roads were made possible by the Obama Stimulus package. It's creating jobs, which in turn will benefit other industries as well. Oh, and let's forget that west Michigan will start to see more jobs thanks to Granholm giving tax breaks to those businesses for restructuring.

DeVos? He does create jobs... For the Chinese. After all, if you buy a teddy bear from Amway's website, it says "Made in China". Nice.

Thing is, let's not give up on Obama yet. He's only been prez for a few months and we need to give him a chance. Bush left him with a big, ugly hole that we haven't totally gotten out of yet. We're still in Iraq and Afghanistan and unemployment's still high, but slowing down. Remember, it took us almost a decade to get out of the Great Depression, and it'll be the same for the mess Bush left Obama.

And if we vote for the Repukes, the hole will get even deeper.
