WHAT IS A CHICRO?
A Chicro is a guy who'd rather get up at six in the morning on a sunday to go to a garage sale and buy cheap records and instruments than get up at six in the morning on a weekday to work, earn money, and be able to afford expensive records and instruments.
A Chicro is a guy who'd cross the whole town to go to a party if he knows there will be free drinks and food rather than spend five euros in the supermarket.
A Chicro is a guy who will bum cigarettes even though he has some.
A Chicro is the guy you always see sitting next to the guy who has some pot and is rolling a number.
SO WHY ARE WE CHICROS?
Well, we play on Kent and Goya guitars, a Dan Electro bass and Casio synths. All our equipment was bought early in the morning, "buy it now" on eBay cheap second hand (we don't snipe; it's vulgar and it's dishonest), or else it was given, borrowed or stolen.
All the records that influenced our sound were also bought early in the morning for a buck. Hence The Carpenters influence.
Our Chicroness is our sound, so we called ourselves (los) CHICROS.
