Thanks to everyone for coming out to the very first Junkies Poker Open at the Borgata in Atlantic City.  If you missed it, we did a $300 buy-in No-Limit Holdem tournament with 450 players or so.  First place was over $33,000.  I finished in the top 100 but couldn't win any big pots late when the blinds skyrocketed.  Congrats to CK, Hales and Rick B for cashing- definitely a nice accomplishment. 

I also struggled in the cash game, getting all my money in with monster hands and eventually losing to horrific suckouts.  Oh well, it's poker and I guess if the best hand always won, then the game wouldn't be so exciting.  One hand that makes me bitter is when I got it all-in with AA on a A-10-3 rainbow flop.  The other guy had AK.....Turn-Q, River-J......brutal, but I was proud of the way I handled the beat.

If you like to play cards, you should really get up to AC and play at the Borgata.  The poker room is amazing and I have to think it's putting the other poker rooms in AC out of business.  Unlike the other degenerates I didn't play any of the other table games.  Blackjack is the devil.  Overall a monetary dagger, but otherwise a very fun time.  Check out the drunken, no-sleep shows we did in the Podcast section of the wjfk.com website.
