I grew up in Baltimore, but spent a lot of summers in Massachusetts when I was in college. So I had a dream about Boston last night for some odd reason. More specifically my dream took place in a very upscale residential area in downtown Boston called Beacon Hill. I'm not even sure I've ever been to Beacon Hill, but that's where I was. And the dude in my dream was very much like Howard Hughes (I was just talking "the Aviator" yesterday, so that must be why), really wealthy and totally fucking nuts.

So we're in this huge park on a hill that was just about the highest point around and you could see for miles into almost every corner of the city (don't know who I was with). This was apparently Beacon Hill. On the crest of the hill was this enormous house floating about 100 ft off the ground. (How cool!). And this wasn't just any normal house. This thing was creepy looking. Sort of like a mansion crossed with a castle crossed with a fortress.

On either side of the house were these enormous 50ft boulders (also floating) tied to the ground at 45 degrees. (Don't know why the boulders had to be tied down and not the house.) Upon further inspection I could see when standing under the boulders that they were hollow and inside they were electronic in some way.

So in the house lived the uber-wealthy excentric crazy as hell old man. He was much what I would imagine Howard Hughes to have been like. Standing below this gigantic floating house I could see he had a pet camel walking around up there on one of the decks, and a gorilla walking around on another. I sort of felt like I was staring up at the Wizard of Oz or the Emerald City or something like crazy like that.

At one point the old man came down into the grassy park to walk his camel (which he kept calling his "puppy"). Actually I don't think he was walking it, I think someone else was, as he was way to crazy to be responsible for anything. He was spouting out random non-sensical tidbits and such.

At some point we were invited up into the house. Not sure how we got in there, as I don't know how to fly. But inside was this weird mixture of high tech and classical mansion. It seemed to be both a residence and a control center/office building. As the dream went on the old man seemed to become more cogent and less crazy. A lot of the details have left me, but it was interesting to say the least. Can you imagine having a floating house? I don't think you need a security system as I'm pretty sure there aren't too many burgulars with helicopters.

Dude, stop dropping acid before bed. Just take an Ambien, snap one off and hit the lights.
