Last nights sleep was perhaps the most restless and stressful I've ever had. I had very odd and unsettling dreams. I kept waking up every few hours. Keep in mind as you read these that they are dreams and have absolutely nothing to do with my actual life. They are bizarre. Here's the dreams I had:

Dream 1:
I'm in 1960's Louisianna. I have no idea how I got here. I can't remember anything. I don't know my name or anything else about myself. I think I have amnesia. I'm with Ryan which is reassuring, but he's suffering from the same thing. We trying to figure out how it is we got here, and what it is we're doing here.

The town we're in has a tiny urban center but for the most part if full of backwards inbred people. It's unsettling. We go to a bar and sit down to get a drink and think. The bar tender recognizes us. We tell her that we're suffering from amnesia. She tells us a few things about ourselves but we promptly forget that too. Our memories are not working at all. I postulate that either a) we're under the influence of some drug, or b) we're dead and in some sort of strange purgatory. Either seems possible at this juncture.

We check into a hotel in the hopes that our memories will return after a nights sleep. Once at the hotel somehow I have this odd smokeable substance (Aside: I'm not much of a drug user so it's odd that I'd be dreaming about this sort of thing). It's drugs of some sort. It's waxy. I think maybe it's some kind of hash. I smoke it out of this Asian looking medicine bowl. I begin to hallucinate lightly. It's beautiful. Everything shimmers. There's a fire place. I stare at it. The flames are blue and there is shimmering smoke that is rising from it. It's beautiful. I feel somewhat at ease for the first time in a long time.

I wake up and the dream is over.

I then fall back asleep.

Dream 2:
I'm still in Lousianna, I think. I'm researching some sort of endangered tree frog. It's red and white and yellow. It looks like the sort of frog that makes people hallucinate when the ingest the secretions from it's skin. I believe it's called "toad licking." I wonder if people actually lick toads to get high.

The frog that I'm looking for is on the verge of extinction because people kill them to eat their legs. Frogs legs are a delicay although I've never had them. The legs of this particular frog are a major tourist attraction in this area. I think perhaps these frog legs are so sought after because they do in fact have hallucinogenic properties.

I find one of these frogs.

Dream 3:
I think I'm in a zoo. I'm researching apes in captivty. I'm living in captivity with the apes in order to study them. This is miserable. I feel incarcerated. Apes are dirty creatures. I'm filthy. I'm living as an ape, acting as they act, doing as they do. The apes and I stare through the glass longingly at observers and passers by. I try to sleep. I'm surrounded by apes. They are slobering on me and picking at me.

End of dream.

Dream 4:
I'm at some sort of formal function in a palace-esque kind of place. It's grandiose and lavish. I'm wearing a tux. Everyone is changing out of their tuxedos. I change out of mine. Some time later, I go to change back into my tux to leave. After I've left I realize I have on someone else's tux pants. I go back. People are upset with me as they've been looking for these tux pants. I apologize and return them to their rightful owner. Where are my pants? There are tuxs everywhere. As I'm both changing and looking for the missing pieces to my tux a tarantula crawls into the room. (In actuality, I have no fear of tarantulas. I've picked them up in my backyard on several occasions. They do not bite humans and I know this for a fact. In dreamworld however, I'm afraid.) I'm trying to move my belongings out of it's path. It crawls up on to the table where there are several plates of food that I believe are mine. I try to grab one of the plates. The tarantula starts breaking into more tarantulas. They are multiplying. I need to get out of here.
