Who Gives Kudos:

October 1, 2008 - Wednesday

Current mood:  chill
The other night I tried these:
Hair-- Mayonnaise
Skin-- 1 egg, oatmeal, 1-tsp olive oil, lemon juice
Lips-- sugar, 1-tsp olive oil

Result:
I loved the after effects of the mayo and the lip mixture. My hair actually felt soft and i licked my lips a LOT as they were very exfoliated and soft. I didn't have any bad result with the skin mixture, but it's difficult to see results right away with those. I would use it again, but it was a little watery, i think i would use dry oatmeal instead of cooked next time, and i would mix the egg first and use less of it.

Last night i tried a mixture of:
Honey(1-oz)
Dry Oatmeal
Olive Oil (1-oz)
Vitamin E (one big drop)
Pumpkin from a can (about 2-oz)

It was a bit firmer of a mixture but it could have used a bit less pumpkin, it was still a bit runny. It was very sticky after it started drying. I left it on about a half hour then used warm water to rinse it off. It did feel so very nice after, though. I didn't need moisturizer before going to bed.

The second thing i tried last night was for my pimples (oh i h8 them!):
Instant Coffee (1-oz)
Salt (a lot)
Hot water

Mix it well then use a cotton ball and hold it on the spot for a few moments. I didn't wash the excess salt off, just left it on and washed it off in the morning. I'll see if this works, the salt and caffein are supposed to dry out blemishes and help reduce red spots. I'll be trying this every night this week so i am not able to give any report on this yet.

OK, off to take a nap now then to Karaoke with Jenny and Crystal!

Wow I can understand intellectual why this stuff would work but I don't know if I could bring myself to do it. Kudos on your courage and it should be interesting to find out how it turns out.

The reason i started doing the home experiments is because all the over the counter stuff was really drying me out. I wanted to get a profesional facial done but it is too expensive to have one done regularly. I've not had any drying yet, crossing fingers. I'm trying a new one every other night or so and only using harsher ones every so often. The harshest thing i've tried so far is the coffee/salt mixture. It's very drying so i only dab it right on the spot and then put a moisturiser ...
So far i've loved the feel of my skin right now, it's making it so soft but it's too early to tell if it's doing what i want for long term.
