I read this in a magazine today and thought that I would share this with you all. Enjoy:

One day, a rich father took his son on a trip to the countryside with a firm purpose of showing him how poor people can be. They spent a day and night at the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from the trip the father asked his son,
"How was the trip?"
"Very good, Dad!"
"Did you see how poor people can be?", the father asked.
"Yeah!"

"What did you learn?"
The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."

When the little boy was describing what he saw, his father was speechless. His son continued, "Thanks dad, for showing me how poor we are!"

Isn't it true that it all depends on the way you look at things? If we can all look at the abundance the way this boy does-especially during those unprecedented times-it would not matter what the material possessions we have. Because as you see, they are meaningless compared to the things we surely cannot buy. (love, friendship, humour, health, etc.). We cannot look at the world as crumbling as we see through the media's window. We have to look at all the good-all that we do have.

This should be the year that we begin AGAIN to look at the world as he does.

Seeing as how things are a little rough for me at this point, reading this gave me some motivation to begin to look at the good things that my life has going on.
