Ok folks....let's not make any bones about this...I know SOME of you out there are Otaku.....

You can't hide it....

...It's ok....I'll admit that I have a few gigs worth of Anime on my hard drive and a copy of some old classics laying around my dvd/video bin.

In fact...a little fact about the Clockwork Dolls....Maiden Voyage was loosely inspired from Last Exile (great series).

Anyways it only seems appropriate that us geeks perform and an Anime Convention. Anime USA to be exact....and at the Gear Masters Ball.

Details are here: http://www.animeusa.org/events/kabuki-dance-ball/

If you're at the con stop by and say hi to us at Guest Alley (Let me tell you nothing makes me happier then meeting folks who actually have heard of us. Makes me tingly......).

If you're at the con on Friday and are wearing your finest say hi to us as we take the stage for the Ball, we won't stay long but we promise to make every minute count.

...oh crap, "Last Exile" reference?!  I love that series.  I'm usually a fan of those, ahem, violent series or the ones that make you think too much (-cough- "Ergo Proxy" -cough, cough-).  "Exile" is interesting to me because it's so relaxing to me for some reason.  It's a nice break from wondering if nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so... AND it has a bar fight.

....did someone mention Ergo Proxy? I.E. the anime series with one of the best opening sequences ever? I have that song from Monoral on my iPod on a loop for weeks. That and the soundtrack is fantastic.

Huge fan...Love it....

Giggles and Shenanigans

The first time I saw the series, I was hooked.  I was automatically a die-hard fan.  Usually, I hate it when kids are in... anything ("Battle Royale" notwithstanding) but I was/am a big fan of Pino.  Then the game show episode happened.  In that half hour, it knocked down almost every single anime I have ever seen and lacerated its way to the almost-top.  There're a few others up there, one also made by the fellas behind "Ergo" ("Witch Hunter Robin"), but it's sitting pretty.

Your Monoral story is similar to my Mell story.  There's a series, "Black Lagoon", with one of the most awesome openings ever, IMHO.  The song, "Red Fraction", is an industrial number and the first verse is "I have a big gun/I took it from the lord".  The singer stole God's gun.  God has a gun and she stole it.  There are few things more bad ass than that.  Then one of the main characters, Revy, jumps from boat to boat, gun in one had and a grenade launcher in the other, and completely destroys everyone.

Thank you, Japan.
