It's been a long time since we heard from Trashed on Fiction, the Miller Place trio whose 2005 debut EP, "Show Me/Show You," was a refreshing burst of edgy, arty pop. For the past six months, the band has been working on a 12-track disc tentatively titled "Lawns & Gardens," and you can hear one new song, "The Passing Perfect," on MySpace. This one's a departure, sounding like late-period punks such as the Minutemen and the Meat Puppets, with jagged guitar rhythms and atonal vocals from Dave Ruckel. See the band June 30 at The Creek and The Cave (that's one venue, by the way) in Long Island City.
