Hi, folks.
We've been locked in the Tamborines cave working really hard on the recordings of our forthcoming album & we've got good news: the new single is almost done!!! We are hoping it will be out in November. We'll come back with more release news very soon... In the meantime, we hope you've been enjoying the demos on
myspace.
The recent gigs have been amazing. Thank you to all who have been there to support us. For those who've missed them, you can get a taster on
Soundsxp which's got a really cool review of our gig at the Lexington last month, describing the Tamborines set as a "
scalding blast of sculptured noise that best resembles the sweet kiss-punch of the Velvet Underground and is good enough to be on terms with that band. (...) This is darkness the way Caravaggio paints it, not a lack of light but almost vibrant with the intensity of the pigment. This is the marker by which all shoegaze will be judged." Read the full length review here.
Our next gig is on Friday
25 September at the
WILMINGTON ARMS on Roseberry Avenue, London EC1R. Support comes from the excellent Daniel Land and the Modern Painters, Real Sound of Infrasound and Deep Cut. Get your
tickets here.
We'll be giving away 10 exclusive white label copies of the split 7" single "Sonic Butterflies (The Tamborines) / The Story Of Me And You (Black Nite Crash)" released by Custom Made Records in the US only. The first ten people to send a copy of the confirmation email of ticket purchase to
info@thetamborines.com will be able to collect their exclusive copy at the door on the 25th. We'll contact the winners by Thursday 24th.
We have very exciting gigs lined up for the next couple of months in London:
28/11 - supporting the Pains of Being Pure at Heart @ ICA (ica.org.uk)
And we're looking forward to touring the rest of the UK very soon...
Hope you can make it to one of these dates. If you are around, don't be shy, come and say hello.
Love,
Lulu x
