Current mood: excited Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
Ok, so it's been about a year since my last post. I only do this so I can look back and see where I was at a certain time. When the competition ended last April, I was down to 240 (from my start of 300 in January). Eventually, I got down to 230 by the start of summer, and mid-summer even hit 225. Then I got complacent, and started eating/drinking whatever/whenever. not good.
So along comes Halloween (raid the kids jack-o-lanterns), Thanksgiving (turkey, goose, ham, duck, potatoes, greenbean casserole with Funyons on top, pumpkin pie), Christmas (mince pie, plum pudding, fruitcake, chocolate, eggnog with rum, eggnog with scotch, eggnog with paint-thinner), New Years. Ok, Jan.2, time to start dieting, right? Bowl games with chips and beer and wings, and meatballs, and everything else. Then the Superbowl, same. So I can start in Feb., right? Daytona 500, more eating. I finally decided that was enough. Back up to 247, size 34's getting tight, losing notches in my belt.
So, now, after 2 weeks of the Master Cleanse, 4 days of Atkins, I'm down 23 pounds, to 224. Back down to my mid-summer weight. Now I just have to hold off on urges to snack and drink, on the weekends, especially watching the races. And man, after some of the days I have at work, or coming home to a war-zone house with squabbling kids, I could really use a big slug of scotch. But I've held off the temptation so far. Goal now is 215, by end of April (Vacation in VT, need to look goood for soaking in the jacuzzi). Good news is, the gym down the street I joined in October, is finally opening next Monday, so I can start working out again (haven't been in a gym since LAST March!)
