Stacy Rock & The Major Majors

AUGUST 28th, 2008

Hi Everyone!

I've got some exciting things coming up.  We're adding a drummer to the band (YAY!!!) and we have a new single to give away.  The new song is based on Eugene O'Neil's play A Long Days Journey Into The Night.  The play is so personal to Mr. O'Neil (it tells the story of his real family, an alcoholic father and a mother addicted to morphine) that he asked for it to be produced post-humously.   I'll be giving out free copies at the show and make it available later on myspace for those of you that can't attend the show!

We're going to be on the radio twice in the next couple of months.   I'll let you know how to listen online!

Okay, this is a long one...

The Sidewalk Cafe  Wednesday, September 3rd at 9:00pm

94 Avenue A, New york, NY  It's FREE - well, there's a two drink minimum, but I'm sure you guys can handle that!

Extras:

-7:00:  I'll be there having dinner, hopefully with the band (I haven't asked them yet!)  I'd love it if you joined us.  They've got great food at a decent price.  If you're interested, let me know and I'll try to grab a table big enough for us all.  You can just show up as well and I'm sure we'll find a seat for you.

-I'll be giving out free CD's of a new song, A Long Day Into The Night.   I was asked to participate in this amazing ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) workshop.  Jim Webb, who wrote Highwaymen (you know that song that Willie Nelsen, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash sang together) and Wichita Lineman (Glen Campbell), listened to my music and told me what he thought... good and bad.  There were a bunch of other very cool people from the business that critiqued some of my songs.  It was a little overwhelming but inspiring all the same!  But, long story short, ASCAP gave each of the ten people in the workshop money to go into the studio and record a song they had written during the two week workshop.  So, I wrote and recorded A Long Day Into The Night, which I can't wait to give you on Wednesday!

- If you can't come to the show due to global warming, global cooling, the election, higher education, reruns of Barney or just plain distance and conflicts, I'll post the new song soon for downloading.

-The soundman at Sidewalk is wonderful and he'll be recording the show.  So if you come and cheer, you'll be on the recording!

-If you'd like to receive a phone text reminder about this gig, just reply to this email with your phone number in the subject line.  I will send you ONE and only ONE text about this show ONLY.  I'll never use it again.  Unless you want me to.  Promise.

Hope to see you on Wednesday!

 FREE STUFF

Okay, so I'm giving everyone who attends the show a CD.  But what if you can't make the show?  That's totally not fair.  I'm going to make up for that.  If you don't already have One Way Home (my debut album) or you want to share it with someone, here's a link to all the songs:  www.stacyrock.com/freesongs    Right click on any track you want, hit SAVE TARGET AS, and you've got that bad boy.  I'll have it up for the next few weeks so feel free to spread the love like the plague.

Also, if you'd like a T-shirt but don't want to dish out the cash, write a review instead!  I'm literally all over the internet.  You can type in my name, find something I'm on that you're a part of and write a little review of the above tracks.  Then let me know you did and I'll send you a T-Shirt.  Bingo, bango!    Here are a few places where you can find me:

ITUNES , AMAZON , AMAZON DIGITAL , RHAPSODY , EMUSIC , AUDIO LUNCH BOX , LimeWire Store , PURE TRACKS , MSM , ISound ,  YouTube

Let me know if there's a venue in your town that  would be fitting for us.  Or a festival.  Or your house party.  Or a college.  Or maybe you know the booker personally?  It all helps. Believe me.  You are more powerful than you know.
