WHO IS CARLA THOMPSON-BOWENS?
Carla Thompson Bowens is a premiere stylist for Divah Hair Salon and Studio, located at 13936 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707, who has been in the business of making others look good for over 25 years.
Carla, is a native Washingtonian and has been styling as well as creating in various art forms as a hair stylist, jewelry maker, clothing designer, and painter. She has transformed her passion for these art forms not just into a business, but also into a ministry to make men and women feel good and look good from the inside out.
She graduated from the National Institute of Cosmetology, in Washington, DC., from there she went on to study with top stylist from around the world to advance her skills at Dudley Beauty College, in NC., where she became an Ambassador for Dudley Products. She has done platform work and fashion shows in NC, WDC, and Maryland areas. Carla has participated in "Baltimore Fashion Week" as a stylist for KAS Collection. She has also had the opportunity to style Miss Maryland Teen USA "2008", Ana Maria Lawson.
She has an impeccable vision for detail and enjoys working with clients to come up with styles individualized to their needs. Carla is well-known for her creative flat twists and precision cuts, but is skilled at styling and caring for hair of all types. She has been called "a beast" with the blow dryer, because of her ability to make any hair straight. Whether you have natural hair or chemically treated hair, long hair or short hair, healthy hair is why Carla cares.
