''You know when you really look forward to something & it turns out to be a pile of poo.....!
Well I am happy to say Thursday nites gig at the ULU was nothing like that!
Have to say it was great to catch up with Liars as we hadn't seen them for a while & I swear Angus gets taller every time I see him!!
The dressing room was a squash court which was soon filled up with help from Leopard leg, who have something ridiculous like 12 girls in the band! Who were all dressed as pirates & sailors...as the theme of their set was about a shipwreck as I understood it. They were very good. Look forward to seeing them again. It is a small world as one of the girls from the band used to come & see us play in Peterborough a few years ago.
We were really looking forward to playing as we had 2 new songs to play. The first new song was 2nd song in, called 'turn left turn right' and the next was 2nd from the end and called 'hard times'. For me the set was over much to quick. My only disappointment was that I did not get given any vodka shots from the audience during my performance.....as i had been in the previous gig @ the buffalo bar!!!
Liars were fantastic as always, finishing with a Nirvana song - Territorial Pissing.
Our set was basically full of all our new material - It would be great to have some feedback on it from anyone who came to see the gig.''

See u soon
Dave

Hey, I saw you at this gig - came to see Liars, all the way from Manc and back in a day, that's dedication! It was the first time I'd encountered Kaito in any sort of capacity and I was blown away - so spiky and funky and deliciously miasmic! Is all the stuff you played going to be on your new album? When's that out? x

Nice one mate. Glad you enjoyed the set. Most of those songs will appear on the album, no date as of yet but hopefully sometime in the very near future! Hope to be playing Manchester sometime this year, any venues you can recommend?

cheers

Dave

Yeah - Academy 3 is great, really intimate and not bad sound. Academy 2 rends to be a bit muddy (that's sound-wise, not floor wise!). The Roadhouse is also good. I'm trying to think of some more unusual ones but nothing comes to mind at the moment.

As you know I've seen you a few times and love the sets you rock through. The new songs are sounding great! I brought two mates along to see the magnificence of Kaito. One of them has seen you before and thought tonight was an improvement, and the other mate, seeing you for the first time, really liked the sound. He thought Mickey was the stand out track.

I thought the two new songs were still on good form. I preferred the second new one. Good to see Dave getting well into the moment, but go careful on that mic stand next time. Haha!

And Dave, what we was talking about, I'd really appreciate it if you could. It'd be amazing!

Best of luck! Hope to see you in Southend.

Tim.
