The beauty of blogs is that you can rap about anything and it becomes relevant because you have a platform for your voice.  I tend to use my blogs to let people know the real me and the things that are really important to me.  Not to disrespect the blog about someone feeding their new fish or the blog about what Brangelina will name their twins but my blogs are a chance for listeners to get to know me.....the real me and not Westsyde Yay Yay!!

I have been saddened by the many tragic events the world has been witness to from 9/11 to Katrina, and from the killings in Darfur to the Virginia Tech shootings.  My heart goes out to those affected by the 6 tornadoes that touched down and ripped through parts of Missouri, Alabama, Georgia and Oklahoma last week.  The 7.9 Richter scale earthquakes that tore parts of China apart and over 29,000 loved ones lost.  Those awaiting aid in Myanmar and the hopes that the junta will appease the cyclone survivors there.  The shooting victims from a church carnival early Saturday morning and the 23 injured from a collapsed carnival ride Friday evening both in California. And center stage for me is the over 4,000 Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Brothers, and Sisters who have already given their lives in the name of freedom in Iraq.

People are important to me.  It's one of the reasons I am an entertainer.  I enjoy knowing that people are smiling because I helped to brighten their day.  Just knowing that we are all on this one little ball of a planet together is enough for me to allow petty feelings of hate, resentment, jealousy, and all manners of prejudice evade my heart.  So always know that if we ever meet you can rest assured that you will never be judged or prejudiced against because of race, sex, size, beliefs etc.  I don't even know you and I like you just the way you are.....and that's the real me.
