The Amazing night of DDS & Sychosys 4-19-08

Current mood: inspired

Amazing! thats only the start of what I can say about it.

I am so glad I drove to Pine Bluff last night! So many great things happened. We got there(Karla,Mikel & Me) around 6:30 just as DDS and Sychosys were pulling up...
Us girls hung out a bit while the guys were unloading their equipment...got something to eat, and started sippin down the drinks.

Sychosys started their set and everyone was crammed up front rockin out!! The sound wasnt bad at all in that little bar n grill. The guys had some really good energy and had everybody pumped up. These guys are amazing performers...you should catch a show if you havent seen them LIVE!! "ZachAttack "on the lead guitar is freakin awesome!!! (thats what i call him BTW)
And then there was Drop Dead Syndicate....I am soo proud of these guys! They were pretty good before their new addition....NOW THEY F'N RULE!! Nick "not the backstreet boy" Carter, formerly of Monoxide Project, is their new drummer. And I have to say he brings the band to a whole new level os ROCK! Like Mikel said in his review...there were a few songs I really liked but NOW.....they REAALLYY ROCK!! You could tell by the guys' attitude last night that they are just as excited as we are about it!! As Mikel also already said...we had a very enlightening conversation with David (DDS' lead guitar/ backup vocals) after the show. I have a whole new respect for that man. He was really touched by our opinions of the band and its entirety. I think he even had tears in his eyes at one point. Very Inspiring. I think Ive found my new muse'. hehe....Mikel and Karla know what Im talkin about! :)
These guys have myspace pages and you need to go check them out if you havent already. Go look on my top friends...thats where you'll find em!
Keep tabs on my calendar for their shows also! If you wanna go and dont have a ride....I WILL GET YOU THERE! Just DONT miss it!

For the guys of DDS and Sychosys reading this...
We are going to be your biggest supporters...we love you, and whatever you need- we're on it! ..tr>..table>

Subject: Sychosys, 870 underground, & the newly reformed DDS
Body: FUCK! I got home around 4 this morning, & I woke up @ 7. LOL The intensive conditioning I've been subjecting myself to over the last year is paying off!! 5 yager bombs, & I don't know how much beer, DAMN.

I've never seen 870 underground perform before, I was impressed. I'm really not into that kind of music, & I liked them. Catch them if you get the chance.

Sychosys was great another night, like always. Just a bunch of normal guys who happen to be kick ass musicians. You guys fucking rocked last night.

Now on to what everyone has been thinking about & what no one seems to be talking about , on myspace at least. The addition of Nick Carter to Drop Dead Syndicate. First let me start out by saying that there are few drummers out there who I will call a bad ass. MP & DDS have both had two of them from Arkansas. Howdy is a fucking bad ass, a friend, & a great musician. That being said, Some things just change whether we want them to or not. Nick Carter is now a part of Drop Dead, deal with it. Nick is my friend, & I wont ever desert one of my friends, in the end the people we call our friends become our legacy, & are part of what defines us. After only 4 practices with them Nick picked up his sticks behind the drums last night & pounded the fuck out of the skins. His double bass added a whole new dimension to DDS. If you had a favorite song by these guys, go to another of their shows, cause you might find a new favorite. The song Lullaby has a whole new tempo, & it now could be my favorite DDS song, if they didn't have so many great songs to choose from. I've never seen David Granderson show so much emotion, he smiled. In talking to him, I could tell how proud he was of the line-up they have now & most importantly the music. He just wants us fans to be as proud as he is. You know what? I am.

Great job guys
