We had a great trip to the plains last weekend . About three months ago we were playing a show in Birmingham , at the Nick , opening for a band called Outformation . After our set Neal introduced himself and said he had a place in Auburn he wanted us to play called The Strutting Duck . We had heard the place was a small hip honky tonk so we booked the gig . We hit town about 4pm on Saturday and met up with Neal for load in . Neal had set up a interview on 99.9 The Rock at 6 so we set up Rob's twin , and Wolf's drums and headed to the radio station . Uncle Dave conducted the interview and we played live with David's small rig , Clint on electric piano , Wolf with brushes on a snare , and Rob on acoustic . We did a 30 min . show . That night we met some beautiful people there . Our good friend Wild Man Steve and his wife Laura brought a group of friends out , Uncle Dave came out , David from the Callahans days , Rodney , Neil , Matt , I am so bad with names but the bottom line is these people care about the music . 99.9 is a great station . I caught them playing Wilson Picket's cover of 'Hey Jude ' with Duane Allman playing guitar and Roger Hawkins on drums . We will be back at the Duck this fall ( September 16th , October 14th , and November 11th ) for you football fans , these dates are during the LSU , Florida , and Georgia games at Auburn . If you are looking for good folks , a cool place , and great music while in Auburn ; stop by The Strutting Duck and tune in to 99.9 the Rock .
