Crisis Hidden Venue Revealed
Hot Chip will be performing a special DJ set at Village Underground in Shoreditch, London to launch the Crisis Hidden gigs Campaign on Tuesday 5th May. The charity have also released 100 extra tickets for the in-demand concert.
Alternative street artist Moose officially revealed Village underground, a restored Victorian warehouse with a cavernous, high-ceilinged interior, as the location for the gig with a giant, clean graffiti logo outside the venue. The last-minute reveal from Crisis aims to raise awareness of the precarious situation facing hidden homeless people, who may not know where they will end up each night and are often forced to move from place to place. If you already have a ticket you will also be sent a text or email revealing the location.
Also taking to the stage will be DJ and producer Erol Alkan, Man Like Me playing live, and a performance from Crisis Skylight members Stephane and Paul, formerly homeless people who have been helped by Crisis, together with their Performing Arts Manager, Celia McNicholas.

A Bugged Out Mix

Hot Chip have followed in the footsteps of Erol Alkan, Miss Kittin, Klaxons and Felix Da Housecat in compiling A Bugged Out Mix, their first compilation since DJ Kicks in 2007. The album comprises a 'Bugged Out' club side featuring the kind of techno and house Felix and Al play out (with tracks from John Tejada, Mark Romboy, Dominik Eulberg & Gabriel Ananda and a new Hot Chip tune called 'Take It In') and a 'Bugged In' side which is a 'house party' mix thrown down by Joe, Alexis and Owen which includes everything from Dizzee Rascal to Hall & Oates, greco-Roman Soundsystem to one of our early influences Dub Narcotic Soundsystem.
