....Imma vent real quick.

theres a handful of dudes runnin around my lil subculture (shoe customization) like theyre above certain things.  Like theyre too good for this, or too good for that.  Cut that out.  Youre not.  If you dont wanna participate in somethin, fine.  Dont.  But please dont NOT participate because you feel like youre some renaissance artist that we read about in art history books.  You paint shoes my man.

NOT using this shoe or that shoe dosent make you better than somebody that does.  So you painted some K-Swiss instead of Dunks.  Have a cookie.  if its a good job, the base shoe really dosent matter much.

Really, how do you take yourself THAT seriously?   You paint shoes my man.

And this is coming from a shoe customizer.  I take WHAT I DO very seriously, but in the end, is it really having an impact on the world?  No.  I paint shoes my man.  So do you.  Take your ego down a few notches and think about it.  If you stopped today, nobody would miss you really.  The world would continue to rotate and in a few months some other talented customizer would come to fill your void.  The same could be said for any of us customizers.  We’re not irreplaceable.  Think about that the next time you run off at the mouth or the next time youre painting a pair of shoes.
