The truth is out there. Fear and Belief keeps people from finding it: Fear of what they might find, and the Belief that they know what it is already.

Lose both, and you will truly be free

A Grandfather was talking with his grandson.

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves."

"One wolf is evil and ugly: He is anger, envy, war, greed, self-pity, sorrow, regret, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, selfishness and arrogance."

"The other wolf is beautiful and good: He is friendly, joyful, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, justice, fairness, empathy, generosity, true, compassion, gratitude, and deep VISION."

"This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other human as well."

The grandson paused in deep reflection because of what his grandfather had just said. Then he finally asked; Grandfather, which wolf will win?"

The elder replied, "The wolf that you feed."

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can
only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves
money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority
always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the
public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses
over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age
of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These
nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage
to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from
courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to
selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to
apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage."

------Lord Alexander Tyler on the fall of the Athenian republic

Something to think about ---

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village.
An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman an the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
"Not very long" answered the fisherman.
"But then why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the tourist.
The fisherman explained that his small catch was enough to meet his needs and the needs of his family.
The tourist asked "but what do you do with all your time?"
"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs....I have a full life.
The Tourist interrupted...."I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you!!
You should start by fishing longer everyday. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat. With the extra the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a thirdone and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers.
Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe open your own plant"
"You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge enterprise"
"How long will that take?" asked the Fisherman.
"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,"replied the tourist.
"And after that?"
"Afterwards? That's when it gets really interesting," answered the tourist, laughing."When your business gets really big, you can start selling stock and make millions!"
"Millions? Really? And after that?"
"After that --- and this is the best part --- You'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, catch a few fish, take a siesta, and spend your evenings drinking and playing with your friends!"

more to come....
