Dear endangered species,
The Works are issuing an official statement concerning the recent 'Garlic War'. As you may have heard, a new breed of fancy 'nouveau cuisine' chefs want to ban garlic from the Italian kitchen. The overpowering taste and the alleged bad smell are the arguments used by the anti-garlic lobby. They are supported by uber-metrosexuals and one of the biggest criminals of the country, none other than Silvio 'Facelift' Berlusconi.
The Works, naturally, oppose this view. It fits the trend of sterilizing anything strong and natural in our society and replacing it with safe, perfumed and 'representable' crap. Be it food, be it music or other forms of expression, we see it as a false and limiting tendency. We embrace strong tastes and ideas and make it our mission to scream them out in public.
We conclude our message with a quote by the prominent Italian chef Antonello Colonna :
"Garlic is the king of the kitchen. To eliminate it, is like eliminating violins from an orchestra."
Sincerely,
The Works
