USA Part 2: Los Angeles
So stage 2 of my journey was supposed to be the holiday / chill-out part of it, but instead I managed to cram an excessive amount of action into my 6 days in LA... but I still managed some time on the beach!
I flew from New York to LA on the Tuesday, arriving late afternoon. I was met by my lovely photographer, Richard, who picked me up from the airport and took me for a nice wee drive around Venice Beach, before dropping me at my hotel. It wasn't bad at all; quiet but reasonably well-situated for two of the main things I wanted to do in LA; go to the beach and get my new tattoo!
That night I decided to go for a wander and see what the area had to offer... ended up in The Good Hurt bar on Venice Boulevard, watching some bands and chatting to some random strangers. By the end of the night, I discovered I'd actually walked about 2 miles from my hotel and faced something of a trek back, but managed to blag a lift which was awesome!
Up bright & early Wednesday morning for my location shoot on Venice Beach with Area 291 Photography. Heading down to the beach, we found a nice quiet spot and I got some excellent shots. Managed to get splatted by something of a tsunami, which I did not see coming, and although my hairstyle was ruined, my make-up miraculously remained intact! So we have pictures from the shoot:

I had so much fun shooting with Richard, we scheduled a 2nd shoot for that evening, of a very different style...
Thursday was up early again to get my new tattoo! Having been planning this for the last few months, I'd gone through so many ideas my brain was mush, but I finally settled on a mini Daiquiri, just behind my ear, whispering naughty secrets to me!
I was so pleased with the outcome, it's by far my favourite of all my tattoos, and was custom-designed for me by the awesome John Saletra @ The Tattoo Lounge, Venice Boulevard
Thursday night, off to shoot again, for a nightime location shoot around Venice Beach, with an LA Trash / Punk theme. Still awaiting photos...
Friday meant time to pack up and head to Hollywood for the weekend! I survived 2 traumatic bus journeys and managed to find my way to my rockin' trash motel on Sunset Strip, even with all my extra luggage!
Out to party on Friday night, I headed to the Whisky A-Go-Go, where I managed to find the only other Brits in the place, a group of young deviants from England known as Jonny Black, who were over recording their new album.
Saturday and time to shop! Wandered down La Brea in search of vintage; slightly disappointed with my lack of findings this time, compared to my last visit, but it was a beautiful sunny day, so I wasn't complaining! Took a wee trip up the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as you do, and got sucked into all the amazing costume shops there... ended up spending more than I should have. Whoops.
Last night and time to party! Went the other way down Sunset, to see what I could find and ended up in the Burgundy Room, where I went on my last visit (although I couldn't remember what it was called or where it was, so pure luck that I found it this time!) They played lots of my kind of music and I met some interesting people... not a bad last night at all!
Sunday was my last day, so sad to be leaving! Richard came and collected me from my hotel, and we went for a drive through Beverley Hills and down Rodeo Drive, before going for lunch in Johnny Rockets (which I love!) Then went to look through some of our pics, before heading to the airport. :( I only cried a wee bit this time (normally I bawl my eyes out when I have to get back on a plane from the US to come home, it's utterly devastating!)
Due to extreme lack of sleep the previous night, I managed to crash out for almost the entire journey back to Paris, before changing planes and finally making it back to the UK.
So, an amazing trip all round! I am already planning my next visit for 2010, for more performances, modelling, and of course... my next tattoo!
Until then, here's a final reminder of that beautiful Californian sunshine and scenery...
