Who Gives Kudos:

This is one of the few places where fans get the chance to express their views, thoughts and opinions to the artist themselves. Please don't ruin this unique medium by exploiting it. Any advertisments will be removed and the person/page who left it will be deleted as well. After months of spam it was time to draw a line in the sand so to speak. Thanks... Mighty Junn Productions

Often the spammers have got into a real person's account without them realising - it might be worth letting the person know first so they have a chance to change their password and take control of their account again before you delete them. It is a good idea to delete the comments as they often lead to others getting their account stolen.

Hi Andy...Yes...We are aware of real people's accounts being phished. Those people are safe from being deleted unless the problem persists over a long period of time. However... many bands use auto-commenting features to promote themselves and we do not approve of those methods. Who do they think they are fooling??? They should give people a little more credit....Those bands/artists will be deleted from Karsh's' page for such scandalous promotion. Thanks for the heads up though... Mighty Junn Productions

I respect your decision and views on this all-too-common problem (and appreciate that you have well thought out the ramifications to individuals and/or bands). I only wish that other oft-visited myspace site pages' (generally, those of musicians/bands) owners regularly practiced the same weeding out method you are employing here. Kudos to you, KK. --kima

I think that MySpace also enables communication between artists in an accessible way and that it is up to all artists to make proper use of it and respect each other and each other's MySpace page. So thank you for not categorically denying bands to become friends but rather take an active approach to monitoring, even though it may take effort. Many positive things can come from this form of interaction. I didn't know about Karsh Kale before I received a friend request. After that I actually went out and bough his CD "Broken English" and have been listening to it many times since.

I think this is a great policy and I heartily support it. I enjoy getting comments from people on the music that I do and it's also very helpful if it's constructive. The worst thing is when people come on by and don't leave any sort of message except as you point out: an advertisement for their own stuff.

First of all, it's rude! It's like coming into someone's house and trying to sell them your vacuum cleaner. Second, it's rude because it completely discounts the fact that perhaps I might be trying to make a vacuum cleaner of their own. (if that makes sense) The attitude seems to be as if they expect you to perhaps throw away everything that you've been working towards and devote the rest of your life solely to being their number one fan. Give me a break!

Now... that being said... I do enjoy discovering new music and I'm discovering new music all the time. Myspace has turned out to be a wonderful place to find all sorts of cool creative things that people are doing. Both the people just starting out, as well as more established artists who may have been around for a long time. It's a wonderful venue, but as I said, I think of going to someone's profile the same way as if I were coming in to their home - or perhaps as if I were coming in to their booth at a trade show. At a trade show one would never do that... coming in to sell their own stuff in someone else's booth. You'd get kicked out! Besides which, it's very unprofessional. But then, a lot of people around here ARE very unprofessional. <sigh> I'm glad you're one of the ones who is professional in your attitude - as well as in your music. So, as I said, I salute that.

Cheers!

Wes
