Thanks to the Dallas Video Festival, my husband, Alan, and I were able to catch an early screening of Interview, directed by and starring Steve Buscemi. Steve did a fabulous job of directing and acting in the movie, and his co-star, Sienna Miller, is also excellent. The movie is a remake of a film by Theo Van Gogh, the Dutch filmmaker who was killed by Muslim extremists in 2004 because of a documentary he made with a Dutch Islamic woman parlimentarian. Interview has nothing to do with Islam, but touches on a number of interesting questions about celebrity, journalistic ethics, and human relationships. Alan and I both thought about the movie for days afterward. If you're in Dallas, the movie opens at the Angelika Theater on Mockingbird on July 27. If you're not in Dallas, check your local movie listings.

Steve and I worked together for the Wooster Group back in New York many years ago. Besides being a very talented actor, director and writer, he's also one of the funniest and most down-to-earth people I've ever met. Go see Interview or rent it on Netflicks so he can make more independent movies!
