Memphis musicians will come together to celebrate Jim Dickinson on September 21st at the Levitt Shell in Overton Park. The Jim Dickinson Memorial Folk Festival is a free concert honoring the musical life of  musician and producer Jim Dickinson, whose credits include The Rolling Stones, The Replacements, Bob Dylan and Big Star. The 67-year-old Dickinson died On August 16th while recuperating from heart surgery.

When: Monday September 21st, 2009, 7pm
Where: Levitt Shell in Overton Park, Memphis, TN
 
Performers for the evening include Jimmy Crosthwait & His Time Machine, Keith Sykes & Tommy Burroughs, Shannon McNally, Sid Selvidge, Reba Russell, Jimbo Mathus, Luther Dickinson, Amy LaVere, The Sons of Mudboy. The list of performers include many acts from a benefit concert that took place last month in Memphis.

I was so sad to hear about your father, and so sorry for your loss.  Can't make it to the memorial as I'm in Atlanta, but I will pass this along to my MS family in hopes they can join you in celebration of his memory.  Much love to y'all!
