ok. so I'm told that I gotta' do my part. . . that I should just start rambling here from time to time... "free association", "train of thought" I should begin with an apology. I know that I've been hard to find and honestly, that's sort of my nature. I can be a bit of a recluse. I'll do better here. In this place. this little page should keep you apprised of my goings-on, should you be so curious. I've kind of taken the last year or so to myself, with just a little playing here and there, trying to decide what to do should I choose not to sell the farm and move to mexico... I'm pleased to say that through some sort of spiritual intervention (spirits don't really speak to me - they 'holler' - or laugh at me, anyway) it has occurred to me that I should venture again into the real world of american non-idol-hood to make my way in accordance with my 'said' nature. thus, this-here website and another to follow shortly.

I recently finished my little part for a beautiful documentary, imagined by one randi jacobs. it's working title is "sentence for two" and it's a telling of female inmates who give birth while incarcerated. I re-recorded versions of 'where you been' and 'there I go again' along with incidental music set throughout the film. I'm really pleased with this project. randi's work is stunning, following three women who were imprisoned separately and for various charges, along with another who had recently completed serving her sentence. I used an old brazilian classical guitar that I literally purchased on a street corner for a modest $50 and I dare say that it's some of the better recording we've done... kind of 'woody' sounding with a finger-style blues, it seems very fitting for the subject matter. I'll be sure to mention the release date for randi's film here, when I know more. because of the good work we got from this project, we left 'the shop' set up and are hoping to have one or two new things (cd's) done in the next few months. we are working on getting a few sound-bytes put up on this site, at which time I will be sure to include something from the documentary...
