Surviving Black Saturday
Finalists for the 2010 CMAA Golden
Guitar Awards were announced yesterday and Carter & Carter received two
finalist spots with their song Surviving Black Saturday - Vocal Group/Duo and
Heritage Song of the Year.
Surviving Black Saturday is also
currently #8 with a bullet on the National Country Tracks Top 30.
ABC Television is
scheduled to run a story on Carter & Carter and Surviving Black Saturday
tonight at 7pm
Merelyn and David are thrilled with
the success of this very special song which not only captures and important part
of their own lives, but also encompasses a snap shot of one of the darkest days
in Australia's history.
'It is an honour to be nominated
in both categories and we are particularly happy that is has made a finalist
position in Heritage Song of the Year. This is a significant part of Aussie
history that we have lived through - not just those of us directly affected, but
together as a Nation' Merelyn and David said
(If the ABC is unable to screen the
story tonight due to urgent news coming in this afternoon, it will be coming up
in the next few days, so keep watching ABC News at 7pm)
