I was working and designing at the punk rock store Poseur on Melrose during the 1980's.  On day I came in and one of the employees told me that Michael Jackson's dresser had been in and purchased one of my new designs, a jacket with a built in arm band.  Within weeks of purchasing the jacket he had someone copy the idea of the arm band and intigrate it into his whole wardrobe - in all different colors.  All sorts of BS has been put out as to what it represents, but when it comes down to an explanation he was just ripping off an idea from a poor punk rocker.
