So the band is re-learning a couple songs we recorded but didn't put on the album. I assure you it wasn't a question of quality. (although ya'll should really be the judge of that). We just didn't want our record to be inching towards the 50 minute mark and couldn't find a place to squeeze them between the other 10 tracks. "War, Thank You" and "Youth in Vogue" are getting their day in the sun again, as well. We're also trying to tackle a few new covers by XTC and Bowie. Why all this scrambling fuss?
Well, we've got to play for 2 hours at an outdoor show in August. John and I started working on some new tunes for the next record the other day. But I really mean "started" in its truest sense. We probably won't be back in the studio until late winter or next spring and are just now trying out our options for real basic arrangements to a handful of new songs. Its good to be creating something again, though, rather than practiced imitation.
