SellaBand has its own Island on Second Life

The building process is coming to an end and as of today (Friday 22nd August), SellaBand Island is open to the public . If you have Second Life installed on your computer, you can teleport
directly to the Island Otherwise you can register and download the Second Life client
here.
Be sure to check the
System requirements first.
During the first week of September, a full festival weekend with be organised and will officially open the island - think SellaBration'08 but virtual! Artists can now subscribe for gigs and the festival weekend by completing the application form on the ground floor of SellaBand Island HQ (technical details will be send by note card after registration).
Second Life will act as a platform for SellaBand artists to perform, gain further exposure and attact more Believers as it's the largest (3D) Virtual World. Some of the world's best-known brands, including IBM, Sony, BMW, and Coca-Cola, Manpower, have a presence in Second Life.

SellaBand Island was created by
Walter Mulder, avatar name Walter Mimulus, and Steven Maher of
Sandbox, avatar name Fogg Flatley. The island will host regular shows, featuring bands from within the SellaBand community, along with seminars and special events.
The areas on the Island include:Sellaband Information CentreThis explains the SellaBand concept and showcases the artists that have reached the $50K. People can get free t-shirts and links to free downloads per artist.
Shopping MallShop for the best musical instruments and stage equipment in Second Life through our shopping mall. There is also a gift part exchange ATM available. For one gift-part you'll get L$ 2000 (the currency in Second Life is Linden Dollar).
Music LaneThe Music Lane is a special stairway that goes deep below the Magical waters of SellaBand Land. On each step you can listen to a SellaBand artist song. Then at the end complete a short survey and you will be paid L$ 20.
Entertainment ValleyWe regard this as the most important part of the Island. It's a full festival terrain with a large stage and a field for the audience almost in the centre of the island.
Chill-Out BeachA place to relax or surf.
Newbie AreaWe recommend all new Second Life residents to start here. Here you can find a display with note cards that explain essential the essentials of Second Life.
SandboxLandSteve Maher from the Sandbox helped us out a lot and designed several great features on the island. In exchange Sandbox got its own plot of land on the Island. Here is also the "Andy James Dance Club" where everyone is welcome to dance the night away.
SL-ShowcaseThis area has links to other interesting islands, shops and clubs in Second life.
Sellaband VillageHere you can find the SellaBand HQ, the JohanV Mansion surrounded by other convenient houses.
On several locations you'll find a teleporter. With this machine you can travel from one area to the other without walking or flying.
