Lefka was found with her neck sliced open because her so called ‘owner’ tied her up to a fench with a piece of wire. She managed to free herself but in doing so she sliced open her neck. She was brought to Bruno and Brigitte who are foster carers for PAWS Crete. The vet she was brought to wasn’t sure he could save her but he did.
On the 27th of August she arrived in Holland with the help of Mirtos Animal Project who found her a foster home. We all were so glad so could heal further over here and that she would end up in a nice home with people who really cared for her.
The same night the fosters went to a vet with her because she wasn’t doing well, the outcome was kidney failure. We had hoped it was just a relapse for a short period because she has gone through so much and she was given infusions daily.
On the 7th of September she had to be put to sleep because it wasn’t meant to be, her kidney’s gave up and there was no hope that she would get better.
