The doctrine of the Church as set forth by the Apostles after the Ascension is in all respects identical with the teaching of Christ just described. St. Peter, in his first sermon, delivered on the day of Pentecost, declares that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messianic king (Acts 2:36). The means of salvation which he indicates is baptism; and by baptism his converts are aggregated to the society of disciples (Acts 2:41). Though in these days the Christians still availed themselves of the Temple services, yet from the first the brotherhood of Christ formed a society essentially distinct from the synagogue. The reason why St. Peter bids his hearers accept baptism is none other than that they may "save themselves from this unbelieving generation". Within the society of believers not only were the members united by common rites, but the tie of unity was so close as to bring about in the Church of Jerusalem that condition of things in which the disciples had all things common (2:44).

Do not assume anything.

16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the people, "Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! 17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted [a] to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute [b] and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent.

The walls of the city feel down. that's the power of prayer ^and praise in unity. You can feed off other prayers of people. You see something going on. Cooked up. You hear thwiue hearts and you are moved. Good praying people are inspiring.

Gethsemane

 36Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." 37He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

 39Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

.. ..

 40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. 41"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

When was the last time you prayed an hour? You make time for family, why can't you make time for God? Be there for people after you have a confrontation with them. Read some Psalms if you need help with prayer.

6 And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD

       to serve him,

       to love the name of the LORD,

       and to worship him,

       all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it

       and who hold fast to my covenant-

.. ..

 7 these I will bring to my holy mountain

       and give them joy in my house of prayer.

       Their burnt offerings and sacrifices

       will be accepted on my altar;

       for my house will be called

       a house of prayer for all nations."

       he who gathers the exiles of Israel:

       "I will gather still others to them

       besides those already gathered."

God's Accusation Against the Wicked

 9 Come, all you beasts of the field,

       come and devour, all you beasts of the forest!

 10 Israel's watchmen are blind,

       they all lack knowledge;

       they are all mute dogs,

       they cannot bark;

       they lie around and dream,

       they love to sleep.

.. ..

 11 They are dogs with mighty appetites;

       they never have enough.

       They are shepherds who lack understanding;

       they all turn to their own way,

       each seeks his own gain.

.. ..

 12 "Come," each one cries, "let me get wine!

       Let us drink our fill of beer!

       And tomorrow will be like today,

       or even far better."

The focus is on the gentiles. Me to, it seems. I'm starting to see the pain of the 1 hundred 77 rejections better. The devil wanted me in gony because I was getting a better connection with God Almighty the Sovereign God and if I'd focus on the great, great pain, I wouldn't see the gain! Praise the Lord!!!!

HOLY OF HOLIES   (print this article)

 By : Emil G. Hirsch

ARTICLE HEADINGS:

  In the Tabernacle and the Temple.

  In the Herodian Temple.

.. ..

That part of the Tabernacle and of the Temple which was regarded as possessing the utmost degree of holiness (or inaccessibility), and into which none but the High Priest—and he only once during the year, on the Day of Atonement—was permitted to enter (see Atonement, Day of).

.. ..

A similarly high degree of holiness was ascribed to the following: the altar (Ex. xxix. 37; A. V. "most holy"); the incense-altar (ib. xxx. 10); all the implements of the sanctuary (ib. xxx. 29; Num. iv. 4, 19); the things reserved for the priests ("minah"; Lev. ii. 3, 10; vi. 10; x. 12; Num. xviii. 9; Ezra xlii. 13); the sin-offering (Lev. vi. 18, 22; x. 17); the guilt-offering (Lev. vii. 1, 6; xxxi. 14); the offering of the leper (because it belongs to the priests; Lev. xiv. 13); and the showbread (Lev. xxiv. 9). The designation "most holy" is applied also to the work of Aaron and his sons (I Chron. vi. 49).

.. ..

In the Tabernacle and the Temple.

.. ..

The inner room or cell of the sanctuary, termed also the "midash ha-odesh" (Lev. xvi. 33; A. V. "the holy sanctuary"), is known as the "Holy of Holies" par excellence. As such it comprised that smaller western part of the Tabernacle, the "mishkan," which was divided off from the remainder of the meeting-tent by a curtain or veil suspended from four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold and having sockets of silver (Ex. xxvi. 32, xxxvi. 36, R. V.). This curtain was woven in four colors: white, blue, scarlet, and purple, and was made of byssus, i.e., linen. The cell was cubelike in shape, being 10 ells high, 10 ells long, and 10 ells broad. It contained the Ark of the Covenant (Ex. xxvi. 34; comp. Josephus, "Ant." iii. 6, §§ 4, 5).

.. ..

In Solomon's Temple the Holy of Holies formed a part of the house of Yhwh (I Kings vi. 1 et seq.), which was 60 cubits in length, 20 cubits in breadth, 30 cubits in height, and built of stone (Josephus, "Ant." viii. 3, § 2: "white marble"), and was divided into two sections by a partition of cedar-wood with a door covered by a costly curtain (Josephus, l.c. § 3; II Chron. iii. 14). The section farthest from the entrance, designated also as the "debir" (the "oracle" "the most holy place," I Kings vi. 5, R. V. margin), was 20 cubits high and presented the shape of a cube. The stone of this inner or hinder part, like the outer room, was completely hidden with cedar boards carved with knops or gourds and open flowers and then covered with pure gold. This room must have been without light. In it was placed the Ark (ib. vi. 18, 19).

.. ..

In the Second Temple, details of the construction of which are not preserved in the Biblical documents (Ezra vi. 3 mentions dimensions), the Holy of Holies was curtained off (I. Macc. i. 22, iv. 51). It was empty, except for a stone three fingers in breadth on which the high priest deposited the censer (Josephus, "B. J." v. 55; Yoma v. 2). In Ezekiel's ideal Temple the Holy of Holies measured 20 cubits in length and the same in breadth (Ezek. xli. 4). Ezekiel (ib. 21, 23) calls this inner section simply  (R. V. "sanctuary"), in contrast to the "hekal" (= "temple").

.. ..

In the Herodian Temple.

.. ..

In the Herodian Temple the Holy of Holies was not divided off from the rest of the hekal by a wall, but two curtains, a cubit apart, partitioned the inner chamber from the outer room. These curtains were richly wrought. (She. viii. 5), and were so arranged that in order to enter the high priest had to lift them diagonally at the sides; the outer opening was at the south end, the inner at the north (Yoma v. 1). The length of the Holy of Holies was 20 cubits. Above both the inner and the outer rooms was an upper chamber, constructed to enable builders to make the necessary repairs. A trap-door was above the Holy of Holies, and through this the workmen were lowered in boxes, to guard against profanation (lit. "feasting their eyes"). In this upper chamber the location of the two rooms underneath was marked off (Mid. iv. 5).

.. ..

According to Maimonides ("Yad," Bet ha-Beirah, iv. 1; see Yoma 23a), in the Holy of Holies of theTabernacle was a stone on which the Ark rested; before it was placed the flask of manna and Aaron's staff. Solomon made a depression in order that these objects might, if necessary, be hidden therein, which was done by Josiah (comp. Hor. 12a; Ker. 5b; Yoma 21a, 52a).

.. ..

—Critical View:

.. ..

It is generally contended that the Tabernacle represents a later priestly reconstruction patterned after the Solomonic and Ezekiel's ideal Temples (see Graf, "Die Geschichtl. Bücher des Alten Testaments," Leipsic, 1868; Popper, "Der Biblische Bericht über die Stiftshütte"). The account of Solomon's Temple (I Kings vi.) is also very much involved, and probably represents various sources. The legislation in P is based partly on actual practise, partly on theoretical insistences anticipated to a certain extent in Ezekiel, gradually realized in the Second (Zerubbabel's) Temple and fully recognized as authoritative in the Maccabean-Herodian-Mishnaic Temple. According to Büchler ("Die Priester und der Cultus," Vienna, 1895), during the last period of the Temple's existence certain concessions were made with latitude for "laymen." On the one hand, the use of the term "odesh ha-odashim" as a synonym for, or a later explanation of, "debir" (="oracle"), and the application of the same designation to all the things that were accessible only to the priests, and, on the other, the uncertainty of the use of the double phrase in Ezekiel (see above; Smend, Commentary on Ezek. lxi.; Bleek, "Einleitung," 4th ed., p. 234), indicate a gradual evolution of the notion that certain places and things partook of a higher degree of holiness than others. The analysis of the various passages shows that "odesh," originally designating "property of or reserved for Yhwh," only gradually came to admit of different degrees. In distinction from all tithes which are holy those belonging to the priests are further designated as "midash" (Num. xviii. 29; comp. ib. viii. 32).

.. ..

Applied to locality, this distinction in degrees is noticeable first in Ezekiel. His idea of the ascending scale of holiness is apparent in his designation of the Temple territory as "Holy of Holies" in comparison with the surrounding Levitical land (Ezek. xliii. 12, xlviii. 12). This notion pervades the Priestly Code and is determinative of the later Jewish conception, which ascribes to the land of Israel, the city of Jerusalem, the different courts and buildings of the Temple, in a fixed but ascending scale, different degrees of sanctity (Sanh. 2a, 16a;

 Be here at church every Saturday morning for prayer. 9a. praying together brings courage and powerful response.

23On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. 25You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:

   " 'Why do the nations rage

      and the peoples plot in vain?

 26The kings of the earth take their stand

      and the rulers gather together

      against the Lord

      and against his Anointed One.[c]'[d] 27Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people[e] of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."

They prayed with boldness. Tplc of agreement is the place of power.

When I was 15 and worked at Sonny’s, Shane Todd, a UGA student was a great, great guy. About a decade older, maybe half a decade, he cut up with me like he was 15 too. We cut up at appropriate times. You will not keep your job if you don't know when to cut up. 2 Corinthians 4:1  1Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. When I 1st got the Internet, I was in my early 20s. I had a  high school Senior girl penpal. We shared musings of our love for Jesus. We did that many times. 1nc she said her sister was on the account and at supper was making fun of me. What a dweeb. Oh, I love Jesus, I love Jesus, I love Jesus, I love Jesus. It wasn’t like that. Since I was thrown all over a car and my facial bones were crushed and I had great doctors reset them where they belong, I feel great love for Jesus. It was experts who flew in. I'm so fortunate! 2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. [-] If you never run into persecution of some sort, something is wrong. The world is naturally jealous of what you have.  The world will persecute you because they cannot think of a better revenge to get on you. Always be loving. I get tons of friend requests and it’s amazing how many contacts I lost. Right now, I'm fiercely tired. I was going to sleep late this morning, but I knew I needed an early start on my proofreading to get done before Bible Study. Hebrews 12:3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. [-] I saw my neighbor I thought was hiding from me that was really napping and I  told her to get facebook. She said she didn't have an account. I said it’s free; get it. She giggled, Yes sir! The joviality told me what friends we were and why I was hurt that I thought she was hiding from me. Hebrews 12:5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: [-] The neighbor’s husband said she wouldn't be hiding from you, like he was amazed that I even had the thought. But so much past weird stuff has happened that I do not doubt anything. When I saw my doctor was a hustler and begged, begged, begged, begged not to use him, the man the state put over me was stubborn. He said he'd prayed about it. I was like ME TOO. That didn't matter. Then the doctor left the shunt a quarter inch from where it belonged. Or how about the way the college put me in four overwhelming classes then lied they couldn't get permission to let out of even 1. My family said they were never asked! James 5:7 Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. [-] What a perfect verse! Why did the opponent pitcher issue a walk? Folly? You'd think so. But he knew the batter was a slugger and the next batter was a poor hitter. See, the devil arranges mishaps with you to narrow in on your weak spot the best. Then he can create the most damage. I'm about to go to Ernestine’s Bible Study. The reason I feed my spirit like I do is I want to arm myself against the flesh. The foe uses the flesh to gain power over you. Humiliated I may be with 1 hundred 77 rejections, but it led me to focus on my ministry and that will be more blessing than all the dates in the world! Everybody knows how easy marriage is and how it has story book endings, but I'm not missing out on what the devil says. Easy marriage? Why did I say that? Because so often we hear people comment on the trouble of marriage. But everybody entering into marriage isn’t getting into what they think they are. I've had friends express the trouble they have with marriage. Then when they're having a bad day, my 1st blame is marriage. Very, very likely it isn’t. marriage isn’t the only problem on earth. Crave church. Crave to be edified. What does something do if it edifies you? This:, enlighten, inform, educate, instruct, improve, teach. My sermons under my blogs in myspace.com/michaeldeehouse will edify its readers. Jesus will bless you for sharing it. Teamwork. Never give up. Never give up. I just heard that on ESPN2. I also heard it seems like every year somebody is pushing back limits. It made me think of media. Of how people quit complaining as much to media. Of how media has become bold with their presentation. Right now, my team is winning 5-2. I feel Granny in my nature. She didn't like to be ahead. She always rooted for the loser. I didn't. now that she died, I feel myself also rooting for the loser. I like to win only if it’s a close call. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. [-] one time my little brother’s employee was left on the job. Justin came to get me. When he saw the very, very sloppy job of the employee, he, Justin, started throwing supplies, yelling, and cussing. Everything got resituated. He apologized to the employee. I started laughing. That's exactly like Daddy! It was so true Justin had to laugh also. Dad was always blowing up before he apologized. Mom just called and said she's a little late, so I will be too. I said ok. I let her go. (I lived with Papa and he was a boss.) Yes, I'm late and I hate that, but I used to have a preacher with good point. At least you decided to come to church anyway. I understand that. Missing church altogether than late. Jack just called and I'm off to Ernestine’s!.... He hasn't worked on any engines. Huh??? All he's done is pest control and remodeling. He said he LOVES freedom. That's understandable. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. [-] Bible Study Friday you must have love. Respect one another in all matters. Everything you learn is because you listened to somebody else. It’s hard to listen to others without submission. morning next day….I just cut the grass. Places no grass is growing, so it’s easy to get off track. The fan feels great on my sweaty body, hmmm. Americans are so lucky! I know I am. As I hear TV’s laughter, I feel a blessing to my depressed body. Laughter is a good thing!  Submissively listen the leader’s way. Let rulers rule. Do not be rebellious. Be a good listener. Do things timely. Train peoples how to listen. I cannot believe my buddy is out of jail! 1 decade! GULP! I was just visiting him in another jail term before that last jail term! Wow! Time flies! I told him to go to church and listen to what the Sovereign God God Almighty has to say to him. He said he falls asleep. Please pray for him. The dude is an engine genius and hasn't worked on an engine. He was kicked out of middle school 21 years old, so he turned every day into sixteen hour days. Working on engines. You have to listen with Jesus Almighty’s ears. Listening is number 1. You'll get ahead if you listen. You have to learn to listen. Live at peace. Love all men. Most of the time, you could live at peace. Peace is rare. Do not react to the flesh. Do not be critical of weaker brothers. Some people can do things you cannot. Work out your own salvation. Do not run down other religions. You are in the judge. At 1st do not judge. It'll come to fruition. Do not give up on weaker brothers. Get in a position to get encouragement. You need to worship the Sovereign Lord. God Almighty. People fall out of church because they do not see the Sovereign God God Almighty in the church body. If the body isn’t ministering, it falls apart. You need clear, obvious, apparent, understandable, comprehensible, lucid, patent communication. Please pray for Fatama. When you do not fit in, you recognize a cultural difference. I think of my aunt Sarah. The 1 married to Jerry Lee Lewis’ and Bill Anderson’s bygone partner. She had her name changed and hated it when people slipped and called her the old name. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.[-] we’re all in 1 body. You have to get encouragement from Jesus. I think of the many blessings people get for sharing myspace.com/michaeldeehouse. Sermons under my blogs. You have to die to yourself every day. please pray for my buddy Jack Grizzle. We always hung out as little kids. Also, if he doesn’t want to get back into engines, please pray I accept that without pain. 2 Corinthians 4:sixteen Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. wake up. Deny yourself to get closer to God Almighty the Sovereign Lord. Hang on. Galatians 6:9 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  [-]When I went girl crazy, I seriously prayed for Jesus Christ to do something! Chnge it! Please! 1 hundred 77 rejections later, I feel a hundred percent opposite what I felt when I said the prayer! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Jesus! When I established this nonprofit ministry in 1996, I called it Feast of Fire Ministries Inc. I named the ministry after my first book by the same name. I wanted the proceeds of my book to go back into the ministry and not to me personally. I also started traveling to spread Revival any way I can. God (God Almighty) has provided an opportunity of a lifetime to minister to ministers, help spread Revival fire, and see abundant harvest of souls. In January 1999 I began to feel that a name change in our ministry would better serve our purpose and mission. Therefore Feast of Fire Ministries Inc. was then changed to Partners In Revival Inc. Although, we have now fully developed into the currently named John Kilpatrick Ministries, we still feel we are partnering together to see Revival sweep our nation and our churches in all
