 Rising Star Outreach helps the leprosy colonies in India become thriving, self sufficient communities through education, micro-finance and medical care. Their mission is to help the Leprosy colonies in India become thriving, self-sufficient communities. Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease) is a chronic bacterial disease of the skin and nerves in the hands and feet and in some cases, the lining of the nose. Leprosy can be spread to adults and children, but children are more susceptible. Historically, Leprosy has affected mankind since at least 600 BC, and was well-recognized in the civilizations of ancient China, Egypt and India. If caught early enough, Leprosy can be stopped before it ravages a body and ruins a life.

Our Goal is to raise $40,000 to help Rising Star Outreach provide much needed dental care to children in the leprosy colonies, and help with the school. A friend of the Archuleta’s will be the first dentist ever to volunteer his services to Rising Star and they are all excited to be part of this desperately needed outreach. Donations will be needed to cover the cost of dental equipment and supplies.
