Skelter People:

The Man is keeping Skelter down, or at least he's trying. Due to red-tapish, bureaucratic nonsense, Nachie Castro, Skelter's lovably destructive drummer, has been unable to obtain a passport renewal in time to make Skelter's two upcoming UK gigs. Nachie and the band are disappointed that we can't present Skelter with its full whirling dervish backline.

However, stepping in heroically for Mr. Castro is one of Britain's own pop legends, Nigel Clark from the band Dodgy. Fans of the Skelts know that Dodgy is one of the band's big influences, so the show promises to be a unique treat for all those in attendance.

As for those shows, once again, on Friday, October 12, the Skelts will headline the Launch Party of the Birmingham International Comics Show. The show will take place at Bennetts in Birmingham. The Black Country Cats will kick things off at 9:00, with the Skelts going on at a gentlemanly 10:30. The walls will ring with your favorite tunes from "Boomstick," "Sip o' Tea for the Devil," and a few other surprises. It's an invite-only affair, so visit http://www.thecomicsshow.co.uk/ for details on how to get one such invite!

Then on Sunday, October 14, the Skelts will hit the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath, Birmingham, closing out the Wrote Under festival. As of now, this is the only scheduled show for the full band to play a general public gig during their UK stay. So, don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch the Skelts in England! Skelts go on at 7:00!

There may also be a Michael Wright acoustic solo show on October 16. Still hammering out the details, so check back — often!

For more info on these shows and others, visit the Skelter MySpace site!

Cheers!
