Hello, Lovelies,
The demise of the Rocky Mountain News is ridiculous.
Reading the newspaper is far more interesting and engaging to me than reading the news on the computer.  How many screens do people want to be in front of?  Big Screen TV, iPhone, computer - I suppose oncololgists and optometrists love it, but . . . .  Its alright if you're looking to read the Knoxville News-Sentinel  while living in NYC.  However, you know there's nothing better than spreading the paper out on the kitchen table or living room floor or bed with coffee and breakfast.  And breakfast in a diner with coffee and the paper - computer news can't touch that!!  You can roll it up and put it in your back pocket and walk down the street lookin' cool!!!!   A pretty girl acquaintance saw me walking down the street like that here in Tulsavaynia and even said so much.  So, subscribe to and enjoy a daily paper, today!!

It's sad to see newspapers beginning to close up across the nation. I guess that speaks not only for the current economy but also for the impact of the advent of the internet revolution as well as our changing culture.

I think the worst aspect of these changes are going to be that our nation is no longer going to have someone to question events of the day thruout the world. One word, that used to be a staple question of an unbiased reporter will go the way of the dodo bird.
That word is WHY?
When it comes to misuse and corruption of big business and politcs. With corporations gobbling up media outlets and dictating policy over what can be said, broadcast and aired, our country and it's citizens are going to be "media controlled" now more than ever. They will only hear what others want them to hear and in many cases. the truth will NOT be heard, instead squashed like a bug and swept under the rug.

Yep Brian, It's a sad day to see when a major newspaper like the RMN folds up.

Next up are papers like the SF Chronicle and the Chicago Tribune. As each paper closes it doors forever, we lose viligant watchdogs of or society that cannot be replaced be the sensationalistic media vultures of the broadcast airwaves that internionally try to "create" thier own headlines.

Watching you with a newspaper and cup of coffee in the morning, it's like a kid in a candy store!!!
