RISE & SHINE
I have a great idea. Let's all, beginning today, start readying
ourselves for some radical act of God when we get together this Sunday.
Let's come to church expectant for what God wants to say and do with
us corporately. We have decided to come to church with each other--
let's embrace that-- that we are family (think Sister Sledge), and we
actually, for the most part, got to pick each other out. (I'm assuming
no one comes to church as a result of a gun being aimed at their head--
kids excluded) At some point we acknowledged :
ok, these people are odd, but they're cute. I'm odd, I'm cute. They
love God. I love God. Jack wears pink, I wear pink. I think I can
do this with them.
Let's go the next step, and if you can't hope for God for yourself,
hope for those you'll be worshipping with. Pray into them.... for
whomever that will be-- you won't even know until you get here and they
are standing next to you.
Let's pray, beginning today, that prophetic words are given solely to
unsaved visitors and it starts the flood of salvation that we've been
praying for (@ corporate prayer). I've had a picture in my head for
sometime of the baptismal needing to be fixed in our sanctuary because
of the rise of salvations in our congregation-- and spontaneous
baptisms! Can you imagine??? Sounds like something that would have
happened in Acts.... something God would be into. Something for which
He gave His Son...
Something for which He left His Spirit...
Something for which He longs for us to desire-- His Kingdom Come.
warning: the following prayer is rated R and may not be suited some
prayer-ers:
Come God, please, into our midst this Sunday. Show us Your Glory.
Bind us together, as believers, ever stronger. Move us, as believers,
into the world, ever stronger FOR YOUR GLORY.
Convict us, and mercifully move us out of where we are playing at
religion, and rejecting Truth.
SHOW US YOUR GLORY.
amen.
til then,
kate
