Who Gives Kudos:

wow, it has been so long that i almost forgot how to type. it's been pretty busy on various levels chez 45 HQ so i thought i would wrap it all up in chocolate frosting and do a blog.

firstly let's recap on two amazing weekends in the last four weeks - mighty sounds festival in cz was a fucking blast. unlike the vans warped tour, if you ever get a chance to go to this festival, do it. amazing bands, great people, cheap beer and haddaway done punk-style - what more could you ask for? pleasantly devoid of corporate bullshit and moody glaswegian 'security', it's a totally sweet weekend. we played as mad caddies wrapped on the other stage, which meant we enjoyed a hefty influx of people watching our set. encores, plasma screens, it was all there. beatlemania. massive shout out to the f-bats, crazyarm and the ruined, who we enjoyed many 36p-a-pint beers, strange orange food, czech whiskey and absinthe with.

last weekend was also our virgin performance and trip to rebellion festival in blackpool. blackpool, by the way, is the uk's answer to coney island, minus the 'shoot the freak' game. we arrived 20 minutes before we played (this is how we roll), and i'm pleased to say that the show was great. thanks to everyone that watched us and sang our songs- considering it was our first time in a ballroom, you made us feel totally at home. also someone heckled me about the speed of my speaking voice. talk fast, die young, that's what i say. our buddies mike tv and random hand were incredible as always. watching lloyd grossman's band covering cobra starship was also interesting.

on a slight downer, our september tour with agent orange has been postponed as the band (AO, not us) are still in the US. we don't know when exactly it's going to be rescheduled for but we will definitely keep you posted. we are going to be doing some replacement shows TBA in early september though for all your grit power 45 needs, so watch this space. or our giglist, as that might be more helpful. bulletins/ cyber updates to follow.

HOWEVER, we are rockin' the underworld once again this friday august 15th with manufactured romance so please come hang. our set now includes some amazing new songs, with more to follow. writing, playing, working, smoking - doing what we do best.

at the risk of turning into lily allen, i will do another blog again soon. keep checkin' in to see what's cooking!

see ya friday, kat slaters
