Yesterday was a great day for me – at the end of the day I was proud of what I had achieved. The laundry had been done, the toys were picked up and I had made great strides with my business output : ) Sure it was 10 o'c at night and I still had to do the dishes, but hey, nobody is perfect right!
Some days I am able to get so much done and other days it's like ____ why even bother trying.
Seriously, as I am running a business from home, there are certain tasked I like to achieve each day – it just helps keep the wheels running a little smoother. Some days it is easier said than done.
It's hard to explain to my 1 year old "just give mummy a minute to send this email and then you can climb on top of the TV unit and open up the DVD player....?!@!"
Yes I have my hands FULL – but I couldn't be happier. On days when I achieve very little in my business, it's amazing the difference a little perspective gives me. I remind myself of the 1 reason why I became an online entrepreneur. ** To spend more time with my young children.
There is nothing like being needed and loved. I am thankful everyday for what I have.
Here is where I get confused....
I was having coffee with a friend of mine in the city the other day, it was great to see her again. We used to work together in the same office. These days she is doing pretty such the same job as when I went off on Maternity leave in December 2006.
We were talking about the kids (of course) and we're discussing the cost of childcare and after school care. She has one in full time care and another that goes to after school care 5 days a week.
All up, she pay's nearly $600 each week for somebody else to have the privilege of raising her kids. When I presented it like this, M had a thoughtful look on her face .... I was feeling rather cheeky at the time and I almost said..."Are you having one of those headaches with pictures again?"....a.k.a...
AN IDEA!
Why spend your days in an office to earn just enough money to pay for childcare and travel costs?
I know so many people who have a choice when it comes to work and family....but they just do not see it. Just look at the changes I have made in my life in such a short time. A little bit of effort and determination will get you a long way in life.
You can have all you want in life, but you have to be willing to open your eyes to possibility.
Really it IS possible to become all that you dream of. I will leave you with this final thought...
It doesn't matter what you did yesterday – it is what you do TODAY that counts.
