This weekend, Feb. 27-Mar. 1, the Thundering Spirit Family Powwow is once again being held at Renningers Twin Markets, 20651 New Highway 441, Mt. Dora , FL. There will be lots of Native American dancing, vendors selling handmade goodies, delicious American Indian food (mmm... fry bread) and musical performances by well known Native artists, including Grammy Winner and 11-Time Nammy Winner Joanne Shenandoah, and 2002 Nammy Flutist of the Year, Tommy Wildcat. The Aztec Fire Dancers will also be performing. I'll be set up on Saturday and Sunday, and may even do a little dancing (My son, Mike, will definitely be dancing in the arena). Also, my friend Rob (member of the band Green Hell) is shooting a short film this Saturday night, and he is looking for lots of people to play zombies. Here's your chance to walk with the undead and feast on human flesh. They will be shooting at Full Sail's backlot Feb. 28. Call time for zombies is 8 pm. And yes, there will be people there doing makeup. the address is 351 University Park, Winter Park , FL 32792 . For those of you who have never been to Full Sail, the entrance is off of University Blvd. , between the McDonald's and Orlando Ale House. They will be shooting behind the building to the left as you enter (the one with the glass window front).
