Hello and happy October! The leaves are turning rich shades of pumpkin, the breeze is picking up and we can’t think of a better place to be on a grey Sunday afternoon other than a nice, warm pub with lovely friends. That’s why we hope you’ll join us in just under a week on Sunday, October 25 at the Hangover Lounge at the Lexington. We’ll be playing a few gentle tunes sometime during the usual HL hours of 3 and 7pm. It’ll be quite nice to not have to worry about making people dance and play some soft pretty pop songs that will simply be a nice background to the chitter chatter of friends gathering.

What to play though? I’ve just been listening to the magnificent Airfields (RIP) and ‘The Long Way Home’ will suit the mood. Or maybe their ‘The Turning of the Leaves’. But then Pocketbooks sweet celebration ‘Fallen Leaves’ works as well. Or I could just play all of Matinee’s gorgeous ‘The Hit Parade’ or any one of their sublime compilations.

There will also be a New to You Vintage and Craft Fair upstairs from 1 – 5pm. They say it is: ‘An afternoon of fashionable thrifting boasting a host of stalls selling top crafts, clothes, books, mags, records, bric a brac and all manner of other covetable cast-offs.’ This is pretty awesome that this is on during our guest DJ slot because Jennifer is a big craft fair fan and misses the many craft fairs that Chicago boasted!

So please come out this Sunday, have some whiskey, beer (they have Chicago’s Goose Island beer!), or a cocktail (the Honey Berry Smash is delicious and worth the wait it takes to make it) with us.

See you October 25!
xoxo

P.S. I've just today been asked to DJ before and during the HDIF Tender Trap/MJ Hibbett/Leaving Mornington Crescent (from Sweden!)/Hissing at Swans gig at Brixton Jamm this Thursday, the 22. I'll be playing some upbeat tunes from 7:30pm. After the bands, the super awesome Daniel Novakovic from So Tough! So Cute! will be playing some pop hits sure to get you all dancing. It's FREE! Ian puts on fantabulous free gigs at the Jamm every month so do come out!
