Greetings,
It's been a crazy few weeks since last we spoke. I've been getting things in order for the Summer, and so far we have seen a rash of 70's/ 80's Icons pass (Farrah, and Ed McMahon). None hits me harder than Michael did today. Through all of the controversy, surgeries, illnesses, and overall erratic behavior, no one defines pop music MORE than Michael Jackson. MIchael is one of the reasons that I got into music and his Hoosier Roots gave me reason to believe that we can make it even if we come from a Midwestern State like Indiana! Name a Pop artist that he hasn't infuenced: Usher, Kanye, Justin, Britney, Madonna, you name it, he had a hand in it. My condolences to his family and all of us Fans. In the meantime, I have done a Quik Mix that was aired on RadioNow 100.9 tonight. Every July the communities of Indianapolis and Philadelphia mourn the loss of Mpozi Mshale Tolbert. Last year in Indy we painted a Mural (In TRUE Philly Tradition) and I ventured out to Philadelphia for the Mpozi All Star Show and when I say All Star - It was TRUE ALL STAR, a short list of Philly performers that night that paid Respect to the Tolbert Family included Quest? Love, Schooly D, King Britt, Cosmo Baker, and SOOOO Many others that I may forget so let me stop now. FORWARD Selectah!! Friday July 3rd, We will be lighting the Mural up. We have purchased and will be installing Solar Powered Lighting along the North Wall Of Spin Nightclub to Illuminate Mpozi's Mural! Guest DJ's will be spinning outdoors and the vibes will be good!
